Nectare & Root - Cochrane

I need to tell everybody about my disappointing wedding experience with this company. I was so excited to support a woman owned local small business - and I feel taken advantage of during the most stressful time of my life. 9 days prior to my wedding, it had to be cancelled because of Covid. I called the owner right away to advise - I was under the understanding she would do what she could to try and sell items off - but that *my contract could not be cancelled* (it’s also written in the contract it can’t be cancelled, so her stating the order was cancelled is not correct) We both agree the contract could not be cancelled (I am not unreasonable, I did not want her to be screwed over) - therefore all prepaid items should have been supplied on the agreed contract date. They were not. ~$2,600 was paid to the company in total. She said some items ended up being sold off - and she kept the vases and dried florals - and only 2 buckets of loose flowers were supplied on the contract date (which I donated to an Indigenous Women’s Shelter) she refunded me ~$600 for the items sold off. Therefore I spent $2,000 on 2 buckets of flowers - how is that right? If she was able to cancel the contract, then I should have been given a larger refund. I am simply confused where my paid items in the contract went to? I am not an unreasonable person - I had no issues with other vendors who we lost out money on because of the cancellation. I also asked other florals & they haven’t heard of this before. The contract could not be cancelled = therefore all items agreed upon in the contract should have been given for me to donate - and this is my one and only issue. It’s not about a larger refund. It’s the fact a lot of florals were paid for that I was never given.

BEST florist in Cochrane! We have gotten several arrangements from Nectare and Root- all stunning from a Christmas table centrepiece to birthday bouquets. They also last weeks which is nice to see. Amazing value and quality.

Melanie really came through with the bouquet for our wedding! She thoroughly understood what we wanted to do and the image we tried to set. And she was so good for working within our budget too.
