★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our family was camping for 2 weeks at a different location with no services, and a week in we ALL NEEDED a shower, so we chose Mountain Shadows. The showers were free to use with donations for using them gladly excepted which we did.
We drove thru the campground when we left and it was clean and tidy.
Would definitely camp here if the need arises in the future. ??²

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably my favourite private campground I've stayed in. It has the feel of a provincial park, with generously spaced sites, and the whole property being treed. (They could probably fit 3-4x more sites on the property if they cared to!) Great central playground, good showers, free firewood, friendly staff, and the Elk Valley / Coal Discovery Trail runs right by the property, so there's quality mountain biking and hiking right from your site (can ride this 2/3 singletrack trail 30km to Fernie). Compared to the Fernie RV resort, Mountain Shadows is a fair bit cheaper, has a better playground, and has nicer treed sites with great firepits - you'll just be driving 20 minutes to Fernie and probably won't have sewer. I'll be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great campground, $35/night for full hook ups, and free wood. Sites are trees and spaced far enough apart where you aren't in your neighbors lap!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ May 2018 was our second stay here, and we love the place. Close to town, lovely forest, solid wifi if you're close to the office (site #8 two years ago wasn't as solid as this year's #1), clean facilities, and a huge network of beautiful hiking trails (almost 200 km of them in total). We live a quiet rural lifestyle and didn't even notice the highway noise last night, but on my walk this morning I did notice that the sites along the highway side of the loop are substantially noisier.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome campground with beautiful trails and full services, including an awesome shower cabin. Real back to nature feel. Campsites are spaced far so you get ur privacy. Highly recommend.
