Great hike, challenging but not too much. Good for mountain bikes, hiking and dogs are allowed, but kept on a leash

Many love this place for hiking and mountain biking, since there is lots of elevation gain. However, it tends to be pretty crowded, so it's really not a good place to visit under COVID restrictions.

Very nice hike, the cross is 300m up. Beautiful veiw would love to make it all the way up the mountain next time. Did have trouble using google maps to find the trailhead, make sure your on maple bay road. The trail is dog friendly and good for a family hike, just take caution at cliff areas. Very popular for mountain bikers too. Go on a clear day to get a good veiw.

Spectacular 200+ degree views at the summit from Cowichan Bay to North of Duncan. ~350 M elevation gain and about 3.5km up. Good hike or very challenging bike - I had to push the bike up a few steep inclines and left it about 300m from the summit.

Oct 21/2018.I’ve never been here and thoroughly enjoy the hike of about 4 kms return. My wife and I returned to the car in under 2 hrs.A maze of trails that could be confusing although we used a chart plotter that showed us the shortest route to and from the cross view point.A 180° fantastic view of the Chowichan Valley. To the south east on a clear day you can see the Satellite Channel and the Saanich Peninsular in the background.

Even though vandels cut the cross down, view is astonishing as the first time I was there. On the trail up to the cross there was a place where many people created their own inukshuk. Broke my heart to see that someone or people destroyed everyones creations for no reason. Stop by on your way up and recreate inukshuk site. ?
