Montessori Teachers College - Calgary

The Montessori Teacher’s College Early Childhood Diploma Program is comprised of detailed theory lectures on Dr. Maria Montessori’s guiding principles of observing and following the child. Materials used by children 2.5 to 6 years of age in Practical life, Sensorial, Language, Arithmetic, Culture, Music and Creativity will be presented and discussed in a prepared environment. 

The Internship/Placement is one of the most valuable learning experiences you will undergo, and this will include supervised practice with a certified Montessori Teacher in a Montessori prepared environment. Working with children and being guided and mentored by experienced teachers provides you a wide range of real-life learning scenarios. You will gain knowledge on how to observe, facilitate and support children in their developmental growth in a classroom environment. Your internship/placement will provide the practical experiences to apply your Montessori academic knowledge while developing your classroom. Graduating from this program will provide you a MACTE accredited Early Childhood Montessori Diploma.

The Early Childhood Diploma Program requires completion of a minimum of 80 Academic hours and 15 Practical Review Days (120 Residency Hours). It also requires completion of 400 Practicum/Observation hours.
