Moltaqa is translated as a place where people meet, enjoy the food and the whole experience. βœ…This is a Moroccan restaurant and Moroccan cuisine is a delicious combination of mouthwatering flavors that make it unique. ? No Fat, No Oils used. All our meat is halal and hormone- and antibiotic-free. ?Vibe: You’ll definitely feel the difference upon entrance. Its fully Moroccan and expect different cuisine. As lots of spice is used, the taste of the food is strong (some might find it salty, even). ?‍♀️ The staff is friendly and try to facilitate your order nicely. Recommendations: * Sampler Platter for 2-4 $25.95 ** Prawns & Chickpea Tagine$27.95 *** Safran and Lemon Temana Lamb Shank $31 **** Moroccan Rack of Lamb, Table side Cognac Flambed $52 ? About Tagine (Most food served in it): Tagine is a North African pot with a conical shape that makes a uniquely moist, hot environment for the dish being cooked. Don’t miss the Sampler Platter as you can experience Morocco at first with different and tasty sides. ? Enjoy!

This was my first time at this restaurant and definitely not my last! The food here was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were huge. They also had a belly dancer on the night we came in so it was great entertainment.

Loved the decor. Very immersive Morrocan experience with candles at the dinner table. Nice portion sizes which leave you full. The tajines had lots of spiced flavour and combined sweet and savory flavors together like apricots, prunes, and raisins with meat. The plates were really pretty too. Very nice well garnished drinks too. The only drawback was that their couscous that day was way over salted and left you quite thirsty.

Don’t be misled by the street where Moltaqa is on. Its a gem of a place ambience wise, and delicious food! I tried duck for the first time, was the most tender and delicious duck. The egg plant entree was delicious and the bread is absolutely worth calling out. Anna our server was so knowledgeable and courteous, calling her service out.

Wow, tasty Moroccan food in Gastown. Super friendly staff, great food, and an atmosphere can make magic together! Don't allow the location to put you off and if it does, they just open a second location in Yaletown across the street from The Keg and Banter Room on Mainland Street near Nelson Street. The new location has belly dancing shows three times a night on Friday and Saturday nights. I loved how they infused Moroccan spices into their cocktails! We arrived for dinner at 9:45 pm well after their busy period so it was relaxing, chill with great music. We ended up closing the place and left by midnight, hence many photos with no guests or staff in the photos. By the time we arrived they had sold out of several stews so we were not able to order the Vegan Sampler Platter for 2. So we ordered Spicy Baked Harrisa Prawns, Classic Moroccan Harira Soup, Moroccan Roasted Carrot, Feta, and Lemon Salad, Safran and Lemon Halal Temana Lamb Shank with a couple of orders of Homemade Moroccan Semolina Bread. Enjoy!

One of my favourite Moroccan restaurants I've been to in Canada. The food is delicious. The menu includes a lot of dishes to try from tajines to harira and more. I also met the owners and they were really nice. I enjoyed my dining experience. I'd recommend making reservations as it can get quite busy. I don't like the location of the restaurant at all, however once inside I don't really pay attention to that (unless something is going on outside - on the day we visited, it was a little distracting since police cars were coming to that street/area for something).

Blown away by how amazing the service, food, and atmosphere was! Our servers Anna and the young Japanese man (name started with a Y) were both phenomenal. They made sure we had everything we needed and were so friendly. They moved us to nicer table without us even asking and even gave us two desserts on the house. They made my birthday night truly special. 10/10 experience, highly recommend! Will definitely be back for more.
