I brought my '89 Ford F150 (5-speed manual) in to this location in June while in the middle of a long road trip (I live in Toronto and was making my way back home from the west coast), after it became clear that it needed transmission work along the way. Being so far from home and with a very old vehicle, I was nervous about anything going wrong with the repair, parts being available, etc.—but in the end, I was so impressed with the professionalism of the team here and the quality of the work that was done... despite the age of the vehicle they seemed to know exactly what to do, and I have to say that my 30-year old truck now shifts and drives pretty much like brand new. Highly recommended!

Last week I noticed that where I normally park my 9-year-old Mazda Tribute on my driveway was becoming stained with fluids. I took it to Mister Transmission on Portage Avenue where Joey, one of the mechanics, put it up on the hoist and called me in a couple minutes later to show me where the leaks (plural) were coming from. Unfortunately, it was too late in the day to begin the amount of work that would have to be done. Joey gave me an estimate and we arranged for me to drop off my car first thing in the morning so the shop would have all day to work on it. An hour or so after dropping it off, Joey phoned and told me they'd found another small problem that would increase the estimate by about 5% and I gave him the OK to include that in the repairs. After all was said and done, I got my car back a few hours before closing time and the bill was within the estimate. I had to go back the next afternoon when I noticed a rubbing sound that hadn't been there before the repair and watched as one of the mechanics worked to discover the source of the sound and proceeded to repair it. I'm not a mechanic, but as I understood the explanation, a plate of some sort had decided to realign itself against one of the rear rotors as I was driving the next day. My wife described what had happened to a co-worker of hers who does a lot of mechanical work and he said it wasn't unusual for that sort of thing to happen. There was no charge for this repair and my car hasn't made any unusual noises since. I won't pretend that the repairs weren't costly, but the total bill wasn't as high as I was afraid it would be given the age of the vehicle. I also found Joey, the other mechanic, and Jacques, the owner, to be friendly, informative, and willing to answer my questions. I never got the feeling that I was being given the run-around as I have at other mechanical shops. I recommend Jacques's shop on Portage.

The owner of the location was more than accommodating to fit me into an appointment for service and went over and above expectations to repair my vehicle to the standard I needed. Diagnosis was explained and recommendations before repair was discussed thoroughly. Thank you for a great job and I have no doubt to return for any future repairs.

Awesome team who helped me out fix a car I've just bought. I've bought a car that needed a clutch to be replace because it was slipping hard. I did not have time to fix it myself so I've got them to do the job for me. They towed my car right from home, inspected it, and then replaced my clutch. Fast team great employees as they finished the job within a day. The way they machined my damaged flywheel was amazing!. The person who I delt with was Dwayne. He made everything worked out for me at a reasonable price. I'd recommend going here, and myself to go back for more future work.

Phil greeted me at the door and was friendly, courteous and professional throughout our conversation. He could tell I was immediately worried about the cost of services as I had a lengthy list of things that needed to be taken care of. After the mechanics checked over the vehicle Phil gave me a comprehensive quote of what needed to be done. He made me feel at ease with his professional demeanour. His team made short work of the things that needed to be rectified. When I went back to pick up my truck Phil professionally explained all the services that were performed. I can't express how grateful I am for this shop and the men working here. I came in with my toddler and dog moments from close on a Friday and they took my truck and all worked together to get us back on the road even as close was only minutes away. That is some incredible service when I know everyone wants to go home Friday night same way we do. Excellent and quick service. Addressed the complaint I came in with and identified that it would be covered under warranty from a previous service. No charge and yet I wouldn't have known the difference had they charged me for the issue. I'm a repeat customer here and they have treated me kindly and provided very good service each time.
