I'm not sure if it's due to Covid 19 volumes or what the situation is, but I found Minto to be difficult to deal with. For the amount of money they spend on inundating my instagram and facebook feeds with their ads, they sure don't make it easy to give them your money! My husband and I were interested in several units in 2 of their buildings, and so I reached out about a few of them. I waited a week for a response and didn't receive any. I then started setting up phone consultations in the hopes that that would get us in touch with someone. I set up 3 separate phone consultations... all of them were missed. I even called the office to let them know of this situation, they told me to be "Flexible" and that they "promised" someone would call me. No one called. I eventually received an email with little to no information in it. It did not clarify which unit was being referred to, it was just a canned message about general information. Nothing about a viewing. I ended up having to do all the work - responding to the email with specifiic questions "Which unit is this for? Which building? I applied for several!" Again I waited for a response. Eventually the agent said "this is thte $1700 two bedroom, two bath". I didn't even apply for that one! I was so ticked off - but remained polite. I told her, this is not the one I was looking for, there was supposed to be a 2 bedroom 1 bath for around $1550. She replied with the bare minimum again. Eventually I decided to text her instead of emailing because I wasn't getting good customer service. This helped a little bit, but when we finally decided on a unit to view, she asked for my email so that she could schedule it properly... and I never received the email confirmation. My husband and I decided that this is ridiculous - if we can't even give our money to this group, why would we want to live there? What happens when dishwasher breaks down or there's a noise complaint - we won't receive answers for more than a week? The customer service needs a do-over here. The buildings are totally gorgeous and honestly we were really excited about the prospect of this - we are easy going and great tenants, never have complaints from landlords. We are generally not the type to leave a bad review but this was just crazy how painful the process was all for nothing.

I moved out of one of their buildings on July 2nd, and found someone to take over my lease. We signed all the papers with Minto and got approval. Since then they have taken THREE more rent payments from my account. They claim it's an automatic payment that I set up, and so I have to cancel it, but the bank says that it not true and that it's a pre-authorized payment that they are taking. They claim that they do not have my banking information, which is also a lie. It's been a nightmare trying to reach anyone there, and every month I have to wait almost 4 weeks to finally get my money refunded. Save yourself some time and headaches, and don't live in a Minto building.
