★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like the Mintage on Commercial Drive, but was very disappointed with this location. They do have a variety of clothing from different eras, but most of their clothing is in very poor, worn condition, and flaws are not marked on the label. Most of the stuff I saw had either holes or stains. Considering the condition, everything is extremely overpriced.
Really the clothing is overall in worse condition than any thrift store I've been to, but a thrift store is less than 1/4 of the price.
One note: 99% of the clothing I wear is used - either from vintage or thrift stores. So I'm used to dealing with clothing that has flaws. The problems I saw here go way beyond that, especially considering the prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love stopping in at Mintage when in Vancouver so when I found out a new location had opened, I was excited to check it out. I was kinda disappointed though.The staff hardly acknowledged us - they didn't even say hi. We were very actively shopping, so it was confusing as to why no one approached us.
The location itself was nice and bright and open. The selection was a little lacking - a few too many t-shirts and not as much actual vintage. Most of the silk scarves were not priced and were shoved in a slivery wooden box- including an Hermès that when we inquired on the price,they wanted $600!! I'm hoping they found a more appropriate place for it once they decided it was worth that much.
Found a couple of cute things to take home and will still check it out next time I'm in town,but will now know what to expect

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finally, the kind of vintage shop downtown and the west end needs!!! Friendly and helpful staff. A great large collection of vintage finds, especially if your wardrobe is heavily influenced by rock music -- which in that case, they've got you covered from the Woodstock era to grunge, and even has a few London mod as well as NYC punk scene pieces.
Definitely worth exploring if you're downtown and such a treasure for those who live around the neighborhood.
