Mindful Moments Preschool & Child Care Centre - Sherwood Park

All 3 of my children have gone or are currently enrolled at Mindful Moments. The staff are well versed in early childhood education, the meals are well rounded and healthy and the activities are varied and allow for creativity and exploration. Amazing outdoor space and indoor themed rooms, with a great gym for activities!

After doing some research we settled on mindful moments for our son. What a terrible choice this ended up being. We filled out the assessment for our son who was perfectly healthy not one symptom. Within an hour of dropping my son off we received a call from my sons teacher saying he had a runny nose and was coughing? I was on a work call at the time and told them that my son was fine and had no symptoms of Covid. Then I received a call from Vanessa right after saying my son has been separated from the class and someone needed to come get him right now and if my wife or I could not come right away they would call our emergency contacts.I called my wife who had to leave work at the time and told her our son has been separated and he needed to be picked up now. My wife picked up our son he was crying and visibly upset and did not understand why he had to be alone and could not stay for the day. Not one time did he exhibit any symptoms at home or at hockey that night. In fact I really have no idea what his teacher was talking about an absolute fabrication in our opinion. After spending all of an hour mindful moments we decided to take our son out of mindful moments.I could not trust the fact that everyday we sent our son he would be sent home for no reason. We paid 400 dollars for one hour of preschool? Mindful Moments explanation said you did not give us 30 days notice so she refused to refund. How are we supposed to give 30 days notice when you charge us for the full month of September then start the program on the 13th? if the program would have started September 1st like every other month and our son would have been sent home for no reason we would have been able to give 30 days notice. I think maybe they are short staffed and don't have enough teachers and then find an excuse to send kids home. They also charge a 1 dollar per minute for being late? However they had no problem sending my son home 3 hours early that did not have a single symptom. In my opinion mindful moments is a money grab. Thanks mindful moments for making my son cry and wrecking his first day of preschool.

The quality of care here is immeasurable when it comes to ensuring the health and safety of children. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that the kids are not only treated with kindness and encouraged to be their own unique individual selves, but also the extra measures taken during a pandemic cannot be easy. They make sure everyone is respected, and given the opportunity to grow. I cannot imagine how hard it has been to navigate through all the crazy but they do it with grace and kindness!

My children have attended Mindful Moments full time since 2017. We have been a part of the pre-k, kinder and out of school care programs. As an educator, I have been very careful in selecting the right child care program for my children over the years. Our experience at Mindful has been nothing short of amazing. The Mindful staff have always gone above and beyond to not only accommodate my children and their needs, but to also maintain a safe learning environment.

We LOVE Mindful Moments. Starting during a pandemic was nerve-wracking but they go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and secure. We get photos every day of our kids and the educational, fun and varied activities they partake in. MM programming is intentional and educational and there is a strong emphasis on physical and outdoor activities which is perfect for my high-energy child. There's a gym in the basement for different games and when it's too cold out, and the games they come up with are creative and fun. Sometimes I wish I could go play with them :) Best of all, the staff honour each child for who s/he is and meet them at their level and needs. They care for and care about the kids, respect them, encourage them to be their own person and pursue their own interests, and grow in all ways. They communicate well with both kids and parents, and my child's growth and happiness is apparent. I wish they'd had a toddler program when my kids were young so we could have started here sooner!

I do not write reviews often but I am so impressed with mindful moments. They are not your average daycare. They have a rich, educational and stimulating environment for all three of my children of varying ages. The preschool is very similar to 100 voices in Edmonton. Which is where my older two attended before we moved from Edmonton to Sherwood park. I am so happy I found this place. My youngest who is now in kindergarten begs to go to daycare when he is not in school. They are very organized and have well educated staff who are patient and kind. And the cost is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

Mindful Moments is a home away from home where highly educated teachers scaffold children's learning. The facility is of the highest quality and resources are abundant. The interest of the children always comes first. I love the influence of Reggio Emilia and Maria Montessori in both the aesthetic of the facility and experiences provided. Not to mention the amazing outdoor learning environment! It's absolutely amazing.

I would like to say that I have worked for Mindful Moments for the last 2.5 years and have loved every minute of it. The families and children are amazing they warm my heart and make me feel appreciated and loved. The staff is most wonderful we are a true team that work together and have nothing but the best interest of the children at heart. Vanessa and Jason truly have a wonderful program and treat us like gold. I have never found a place so wonderful as working for Mindful Moments this is my happy place and my goal is to retire here.
