Ian should not be able to interact with customers on the phone or in person. He is more suited for solo work. Extremely rude and condescending for someone with limited skills Get rid of this clown.

The products are great but several times I have tried to go and the guys are in such a hurry to close up early that I will make the trip down there and they will already be closed or they will not want to cut anything because they've checked out mentally. There's also this General attitude they give you like they are doing you a favour by doing their jobs.

The team are very friend, helpful and responsive.

writing this review because i feel like people need to be held accountable for their actions. have been a long time customer of this location and the majority of my experiences have been great except for the times i have had to deal with Ian. In the past i have always found him to be abrupt and almost annoyed at taking my orders so i would usually avoid him. without going into the details and specifics, i tried to put in a phone order with Ian and he, like many other reviews have described, was rude, impatient and aburpt...the total opposite of what customer service is. Dude, if youre not happy there then you need to find a new job that isnt related to customer service! This is not a one time thing that i have noticed with him...its recurring behaviour and its really unacceptable just from a common courtesy standpoint nevermind customer service. The store itself is great...most of the other guys at the counter like Roger and Peter are excellent and the workers in the back doing the lifting and cutting are great too...just avoid Ian if you can! if it wasn't for Ian i would rate this place easily 4+ stars update: down another star based on another experience with poor customer service. sent in my quote via email on a thursday. was told that they were super busy but working on it on friday. the following tuesday i emailed them to get an update on the status and received no response. on the thurs (1 week after my initial submission) i called them. they told me they are gonna start working on my quote right then (a week later and they still havent started on it?). i tell them ok and i wait...another week has passed and it will be 2 weeks tmrw since i emailed them my materials list. brutal service. maybe my order is too small to be worth their time but thats precisely the problem with businesses these days... my suggestion is to go to metal supermarkets at don mills. i emailed them my order and received a quote within a couple of hours. friendly and easy to talk to over the phone and no attitude.

I came here to pick up some material for personal use. I spoke to Bryan and he was absolutely amazing. He helped me get the pieces I needed. Great customer service, and just a great person altogether. He was very helpful. The store itself has everything you need and/or want. HOWEVER, I cannot say the same for Ian (I believe he is the manager there). While I was being serviced by Bryan, Ian came by and lambasted him for something unrelated and then turned to me while I was getting ready to purchase some material. I didn't pre-order anything as I was looking for off-cuts and some odds and ends, so Bryan was kind enough to show me what they had. Ian raised his voice and "scolded" me for not doing a pre-order as they were busy. Now, I was aware that they were busy and since I did not pre-order, I told the staff to finish what they were doing and I would wait until they had time. This was simple common courtesy on my part. For Ian - as the Manager of the operation - to yell at his employee and then turn to me and do the same to me - as a paying customer - is simply UNACCEPTABLE. The company's HR division should address this issue with Ian directly and have him trained on customer service, people skills, and overall communication (for both internal and external purposes).

Very quick and efficient, and very reasonable prices. I get amazing service from Ian Henderson anytime I call/email with a request.

Metal supermarket is wonderful. Service and quality made to order. The guys working at metal supermarket are very kind and polite. ???
