★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been delivering feed for 5 years now. Their feed bins are great quality, and that's why I'm rating 2 stars instead of 1. When it comes to practicality, they leave much to be desired when it comes to augering into them (which is the way of the future because of efficiency, pellet quality [ask our many customers who are now "auger preffered"/"auger only"] and cleanliness [no dust coming through exhaust]). Their feed bins have a pipe that sticks high above the bin (which does have benefits for blowing) and sometimes a ladder cage as well that can make things even more difficult. Even if it's just the pipe, there are many times when it is very difficult and sometimes even impossible to get the boom auger to the bin lid (depending on how it has to be set up on farm). I plead with you, customer, to look elsewhere for a bin with no obstructions above it. I recommend bulk tech; same great quality, way more practical. But there are others. And I plead with you, Meridian, to stop making our job more difficult than it has to be. Thanks!
Ps. If the bin is set up with the pipe at the back of the bin, as seen in the pictures, then this isn't an issue for augering. However, that is rarely the case. Plus, the blow pipe is preffered at the front of the bin to be able to reach it easier if you are blowing. So it's kind of a win, lose situation. Go for a win, win.
