Melville officially became a city on August 1, 1960, and is the smallest city in Saskatchewan. We are surrounded by a trading area of approximately 17,000 people. The industries driving the economy in this area are agriculture, CN Rail, potash (a mineral used in agricultural fertilizer) mining, and tourism.
Melville is situated just north of the Qu’Appelle River Valley and is in aspen parkland country.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No, 5 stars doesn’t mean it’s the Sigma. Or the bear claw. Or the Holiday inn. But for the price this absolut good. Even after reading the reviews thinking this might be OK I was surprised what the rooms look like based on the rate. Sure, the Washrooms might need an update in the next couple years, but it’s good. Would stay again! Not sure now why the last time in Melville I didn’t stay here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The rooms are clean. The vents in bathroom need cleaned. The water in shower blasts cold every now and then. All not being to bad. The odour of cooking was everywhere when you come in. Down the halls everywhere except the rooms ! that being the worst part. The beds are clean, and has updated tv.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great price and the owner is super nice and great to deal with! There's a wreck room and a public kitchen area to make meals and store food which was great. Now no the rooms aren't super fancy looking but it is a motel that was very inexpensive so people can't be picky but the beds were comfortable and that's what matters most.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don’t often leave reviews, but this room has inspired me to share some observations! Upon entering the room, the carpet was still encrusted with the lumps of mud from the boots of a previous traveller. My eyes then landed upon the dusty rose duvets covering two double beds in their stained glory. I peeled back the greasy duvets to reveal white sheets peppered with strands of hair in various colours and lengths. We (my spouse and our 4mth old) were only there to sleep, breaking up a longer drive. Sadly, it was not as restful as I had hoped, given the lack of cleanliness. Spend your $80 elsewhere.
