★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You always hope that a business will be ethical and do what's right but with Meicor, you'll be really disappointed. After owning two condos since 2006 in a complex managed by Meicor, we sold them both in 2013. The first sale was uneventful (other than a very incompetent law firm but that's another review). However, after the second sale, Meicor continued to cash the post-dated strata fee cheque they had been provided. When I asked them for a refund, they refused and said that since they had the cheque, they cashed it. So far, they haven't cashed the other cheques but I'm watching my bank account. Now, I'm going to have to approach the purchaser to get the money back. Clearly, I wasn't responsible to the fees since I didn't own the condo anymore. Scruples anyone?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rented a unit in Courtenay while studying in Courtenay so I would have accommodations during the week when needed. Although I was initially concerned with the location, the building managers keep the main areas clean, and are actively involved in screening tenants and managing the building. I have found them to be reasonable and considerate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This company is the definition of a slum lord. I feel sorry for the home Owners who deal with this company. Mecior, harasses there tenants and will literally nickel and dime you. They have no Business ethics and will do anything they can to make your life miserable. I am not really sure how they have survived this long. They hire Building Managers that do not have any human empathy. Do not waste your time renting through these crooks. They have had numerous Residential Tenancy Disputes that are on the BC Government Website. They will blame you for every single thing that would be considered "wear and tear," by most landlords.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very frustrating dealing with this company! We asked for an application form to be emailed to us and the woman who answered our call claimed she didn't know how..... After viewing two apartments and filling out an application we were told it would take 2-3 days to hear back. After 3 days we called the person who showed us the apartments and were told that the girls in the office would be calling us soon. We NEVER heard back from them. After waiting two weeks we just gave up on them. Very unprofessional!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They don't care who they employ, they refuse to pay for changing the locks after break ins, but force you to give them a copy of the new key. The water cuts off randomly and so does the heat, these guys are the most neglectful management I've ever seen.

I found myself in the admirable situation of being able to move from Victoria back to my beloved North-ish Island. The real estate/rental market up here is getting a bit nuts, but Meicor has been fantastic to work with. they were swift in their response when we inquired about any rental properties, their caretakers have been professional and kind, and the office staff has continued to be fantastic to work with.
They answer questions quickly (usually within a day or two, i only waited longer once and that was during a very busy season) and they've always given me reason to believe that they are interested in being fair and equitable in their dealings with their tenants, and have been absolutely hands off unless something repair/maintenance related has come up.
If you find a place managed by Meicor, rest assured, they'll treat you well and give you peace of mind.
