Meant To Be

‘Working’ with Erin was a nightmare! Think twice before investing here. All of my wedding decoration stress derived from her. Also if you’re looking for someone to do a ceiling, don’t ask meant2be. She rents it out and that’s why it’s so expensive. Go find the actual ceiling person and get it nearly half price. Anyway. We went in telling her we wanted a decorator because we didn’t want to lift a finger. Although the initial meeting went well and we seemed on the same page, AND we sent her 50% of the money upfront, she seemed to drop off the planet afterward. Rarely responded to our calls, texts, emails so as plans and decorations changed, we had to figure it out ourselves. We even sent her more money to let her know we were serious about this. Didn’t work. She was so hard to work with but we had already given her a lot of money so we couldn’t back out now. She had us over a barrel. A few nights before the wedding (the night before decorating begins) she threatened not to do anything in our contract unless we payed the rest of our bill immediately (as in, a few hours. No joke). She called it ‘policy’, but the other couple I know who used her for their (completely plain!) wedding told me they didn’t pay in full until AFTER their wedding, so we knew she was straight up lying for whatever reason. No where on ANY invoice did it call for early payment. It said the wedding date as the payment date. So that was stressful. What could we do? So we paid. Then, we found out her “takedown” was just coming to pick up the linens. Yes we took down ALL of the decorations. Put away chairs and tables. And her ‘girl’ came to grab some linens. Not the “we don’t want to lift a finger” experience we requested at all. All in all, she was completely unprofessional and we wasted a lot of money for just a tiny bit of work. Very disappointed. If you want an overpriced simple and plain wedding venue, go here. If you want a reasonably priced simply gorgeous classic wedding, go elsewhere. My wedding was beautifully classic because of all the work we put in and had *nothing* to do with this “business”.

Erin came out of this business arrangement with all the money promised to her and even before (her own website read and still reads) the date due. For WEEKS Erin had over 80% of her fee when she threatened NOT to do the decorating she commited to do and had been PAID to do, the night before she was to do it! The night before the wedding and after she had ALL the money, she said there would be virtually zero take down by her team. We came away frustrated by her lack of cooperation, her broken promises of service not provided, and out of pocket for supplies double billed. Meant to beWARE is a better name for this business. I have all the texts and emails as well as bank records to back up these comments. SOOO very disappointed in her lack of integrity considering we are members of the same church. SOOO dissatisfied with our dealings with Erin Olson. Maybe she has done some good work from other reviews, but our experience was terrible and I want to warn others. You have no recourse if Erin does to you what she did to us, so buyer beware... or better yet; Meant2BEWARE.

I had a similar experience as other reviews. Was nice when we had a consultation and we paid half the totally amount up front. About a month before the wedding I asked for lights to be added to stuff which was fine then the day before (she was being paid to set up) she took three hours to put chair covers and sashes on holding up everything else and we even tried to help to speed things up but she didn’t want that and continued to take her time clearly to be paid more. And then says that she’s not putting up the lights because she’s not being paid for that. She was not pleasant at all to deal with. I also had the experience of her all of a sudden needing to be paid in full two days before the wedding even though it says that nowhere in the contract and she threatened not to show up. I would find someone else who will make your wedding experience more pleasant.

Erin was a pleasure to work with for our wedding. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we wanted. She set up and took down the ceiling herself so we didn't have to worry about that at all. When she didn't have the table runners and chair sashes in the color we needed she ordered them in for us so that we could have the right color. She made decorating for our wedding much much easier.

Let me just start off with saying that Erin is such a star. There was a miscommunication on my end that threw a massive wrench in everything (with a 1 week countdown until the wedding day you can imagine how bad it was when we discovered this). But she buckled down and made a HUGE and saved day. I'm not sure how she did it, but she did and I'm not sure what I would have done without her pulling through what she did. Erin is an absolute miracle worker. And I have her to thank for making my day such a beautiful one. ?
