About MCSnet

Back then, we were an intrepid team of a father and three sons, experimenting with wireless signals and Pringles cans. We saw the potential of the internet to bring us closer to our friends and family.

By 1998, we set our sights higher, adding a digital subscriber line (DSL) to our town. And in 2002, we launched our high-speed internet, the first and only of its kind in the region.

In 2015, the MCSnet family ownership group expanded to include Buried Glass Inc. in order to provide fiber optic solutions throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Today, as a local, family-owned business, we still carry that same neighbourly spirit forward. Now, we serve over 25,000 Albertans, and we’re still growing strong.

Add to reply: over the last 3 years no upgrades were done in the area my connection is in. Service has continuously gotten worse. Are you referring to the fiber Buried Glass inc (MCSNET) is doing? As that’s out of my area. Inconsistent internet lots of times will randomly drop can never watch anything without buffering slows right down at peak times. Towers can’t support the current customer load with current bandwidth. Configurations on their equipment is messed up, not knowledgeable support staff. Poor customer service overall.

Have been trying for the past several years to get service from them. We know we need a tower, but am getting nowhere. First couple of times they kept sending the guy that climbs on the roof to test. But we need the picker truck so we can figure out the height of tower we need. Then were told we were on the list, but needed to do it in late spring when leaves are on the trees. Never heard back when spring came (2 different springs) and when we called them, we were told that they were booked up and wouldn't be able to get service until following year! Apparently they have too many customers and don't need us. I guess we'll wait until next year when Starlink becomes available in our area....

Um, excuse me Corbin? What's with the attitude today sir? I call to cancel my home phone and am told someone will call me back to confirm? No sir, I'm confirming right NOW you need to cancel my ridiculously overpriced home phone service. Don't call me back, and lose the snotty attitude. You are the epitome of horrible customer service. Don't worry, will change providers. I hear starlink services my area with 1000 x the speed of yours. Your loss!!

Overall a great experience right from when I called, they came next day, Brandon the technician was very helpful with setting up the antenna and wifi. Just an over all amazing experience to hook up wifi in our rural area. Would definitely recommend to others in my rural area.

We’ve had MCSnet for 12 years and have had excellent service and excellent technical support if needed. We’ve dropped our satellite tv and went straight with streaming and haven’t had one issue watching Streaming services using MCSnet. Highly recommend.

We are out in Smoky Lake area. We have tried two other providers that did not work for us. Forever having to reboot and wait for hours on hold. We switched to MCS net approx July 2021. We are very pleased to NOT have everything buffer steady. I have only had to call once as my credit card was expiring. I waited approximately 20 seconds to speak with a human. Very pleased so far ?. Mona Daub.
