★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No stars.. Atrocious experience. Slid an additional insurance in (Replacement - IFS) without proper disclosure at the dealership (Harris Dodge- Victoria BC). We only discovered the extra charges when deciding to check with Autoplan. Initially helpful with a cancellation request after a week followed up to check status and return of debited charge. Told the person responsible was home returning after 2 days. Called back and this person seemed to feign ignorance. "I will have to check and call back" After a reasonable wait for a returned call...called back put on hold and disconnected. Called back again and told she wasn't available. When I decided to bypass and call the Insurance company directly I finally received a call back and this person became defensive and rude. I will never deal with Maxxam again (2nd time they have done the same IFS move)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The guy that they have working out of Harris Dodge is absolutely useless. This is the second instance my insurance was completely messed up. This time, I was assured a policy was cancelled on my trade-in. However, I’m still getting billed for the policy and when I reached out to the insurer I was advised the policy hadn’t been cancelled. Such a headache dealing with these people when purchasing a new vehicle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a really off-putting experience with Westland Insurance with one of their team managers over the phone when I was searching for someone to handle commercial liability and garage policy. Maxxam on the other hand was an absolute refreshing delight to deal with. They were respectful and non-judgmental when it came to my questions being answered. Thank you Brianna!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walked in and walked out, poor customer service. They treat customers like trash… they take their time to even acknowledge you are there, they talk down to you and in my experience the person was rude, loud and undermining. They tried to upscale me on coverage which is fine, but honestly guys in my 20+ years of driving never has my car roled down a hill or in a parking lot(heard this 4 times while they where upwelling), they insist on talking to people as if you are a child or mentally challenged. I went elsewhere and was treated with respect and kindly. You can pick and choose where to get your insurance, I don’t recommend going to this place based on the EMPLOYEES.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are few businesses that are truely culturally diverse not just with staffing or advertising or the music played for their patrons...but to have an atmosphere that facilitates inclusion with a friendly greeting isn't as prevalent as one would expect in today's day an age. Maxxam encompasses these principles in my humble opinion. The quiet culture of social prejudices in Canada is very much out there but at Maxxam.
Good leadership always produces a strong team. Amen!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maxxam has been my home insurance provider for 3 years now and I've had an absolutely fantastic experience with them the entire time. When I went looking for a provider, I got quotes from a number of places looking for the best option. Shayne answered all of my questions, put me at ease, and made the decision really easy.
He also keeps me updated, and lets me know what options are available at each renewal (removing or adding extra coverage, checking for changes to our property, etc.).
I highly recommend Maxxam Insurance for all of your insurance needs. They are a great, full-service insurance agency.
