As someone who found themself in a troubling, compilated and serious legal situation; with no prior experience with the legal process, seeking legal representation was a daunting task to say the least. Thankfully it was suggested to me to give Maureen Currie a call. I stopped by her office and was greeted by very friendly, competent staff. Ms Currie wasn't there at the time but called me a short time later. She was a very reassuring voice to this rattled and terrified potential client. It was some time until we formally met as she needed to get all the evidence and information relating to my case. I was constantly updated by phone or email as to her progress. During our initial meeting, I found her very direct, yet non - judgemental and compassionate. She didn't sugar coat anything, gave me best and worst case scenarios, and kept me grounded when all I wanted to do was bury my head in the sand. That's a hard pill to swallow when all you want to do is pay your dues and move on with your life. My final drum roll was postponed even longer because of Covid 19. Even through the pandemic she continued to work diligently on my case. I had prepared myself for an imminent jail term, given the seriousness of my charges. Maureen managed to get a number of my charges dropped and a final sentence being a fairly lenient and short non -custodial term with probation.
