Mattamy Homes - Stillwater - Edmonton

My clients just moved into their new home in Stillwater(I’m a Realtor) and are very happy. From our first meeting there to possession day it’s been very professional. It’s s very nice area with a lot of nice small extras in the homes. If I have clients looking for new or in the Westend I try to show them Stillwater Mattamy Homes. Very impressed!

The sales team is not truthful and once you sign a deal, they will do everything in their power to change the deal. A month before possession of a spec home (they should have all the final paperwork ready on the specifications of the home since you literally can't change anything). But the one they presented for us had errors. One, it didn't have the hood fan but the sales team was saying it for sure comes with one. They had a microwave listed, but since we got the hood fan upgrade, they said they would not honour installing a microwave in the centre island. So we had a hole in our island on possession date. It was $600. They offered us $250 gift card to the retailer and we had to install ourselves. $460k house and they are squabbling over a microwave. Their mistake, you pay for it. This is the real reason I am posting this review. I don't really care about having to spend money to fix it but I gave them the opportunity to do what is right and make the customer happy. Instead we got the blame for it. All homes are to have sod and a tree planted in the front yard. Well they planted the tree sometime in the fall (before our possession date). Our possession date was mid-January in Edmonton. -35 celcius was the temperature and the tree was buried under 4 ft of packed snow. After the snow melted, we discovered that the tree bark at the base was eaten by rabbits and essentially dead. But since we didn't report it on our possession date or after our 30 day, they won't replace it cause we didn't put up any protection from animals. -35 celcius, frozen ground, buried in 4 ft of packed down snow. How exactly do you report this? I want to know. Why plant the tree when the possession date is in the middle of winter? Why was there no protection placed when the tree was planted? Could it have been damaged in the fall? Nope, blame the customer and move on. Again an easy fix but they choose to blame the homeowner.

GARAGE DOOR SAFETY CONCERN. We bought our Mattamy Home in 2016, in Beaumont. I thought it prudent to write this review as a matter of safety for potential new owners of a Mattamy Home. After 5.5years the garage door internal tube springs have snapped inside the tube. Only 5.5yrs! Leaving the garage door useless. What you want to know, and you probably don't, is that the garage door manufacture Wayne Dalton do not make the tubes and springs anymore! This would probably explain why Mattamy installed these particular garage doors. Cheaping out on a product that would be become discontinued in a few years is classic penny-pinching at it's finest. I shouldn't have really expected anything else. We are now scrambling to find old stock of the springs, if we can't find them, we are going to have to buy the materials to have an external spring system built. Having the springs on the outside of the tube is an obvious safety hazard, that we may have to live with. Check the manufacture of your garage door and make sure the parts are readily available. Don't be left in a position like we now are and 100's of dollars ( could be $1,000+) out of pocket.

I just moved 2 weeks ago stillwater edmonton west. overall quality of the house was more then I expected. Very Good builders and special sales people "fady sakkab" was amazing ? helpful and very experienced. Am happy with them guys....if you planning to buy ? around edmonton I recommen to visit mattamy before you made your final decision.....

I’ve been construction more years. I can say sales team is perfect. Service is perfect until you buy a house. House quality is so low, this the main reason they are selling nice designs very cheap. Building has to be built less cost. They are hiding a secret. Ta Ta secret of sale!! When you see the house designs and architectural stuff, you will fall in love with house. Especially the size!! The secret is here!! they include garage, basement, porch and balcony on the sq footage. The living areas way smaller than you see on the posts. Some other honest builders tell you living area sizes, but mattamy won’t. Because they have perfect sales team.

Worst home builder I’ve had to deal with! Blames the homeowner for defective/poorly installed items around the home, doesn’t take the time to listen to what’s being said and will dismiss your claims to repair items covered under warranty, as to avoid follow up work. Then doesn’t care to explain why something is to a buyers understanding. Unfortunate that the area is so beautiful and the individuals responsible unprofessional, will now prefer to use as a rental property and move elsewhere to find understanding and compassion!

I've recently bought a home here I've yet to move in I will update this review at the time we pick up the keys so far the team at Mattamy Still-water has gone above and beyond to help us with our first home purchase, special thanks to Fady and Karen for being professional and quickly responding to any of our questions. Well we moved in a few weeks ago and it's hard for us to say anything negative about the staff at Mattamy Still-water and our new home the finish is absolutely perfect we had a few paint touch up a part from that 100% 2 thumbs up!

Mattamy builds beautiful modern homes, they are pleasant and easy to deal with and have SO many options available when you chose to build with them.
