β β β β β I met the owner, Eliot Soo, a young Eurasian gentleman, just prior to his opening a bit more than a year ago. Starting out with great enthusiasm, he opened in the midst of a gloomy Vancouver market for fine antiques. The odds did not favor him. Then, to my surprise, a few months after his neighbor, the venerable Panache went out of business, he took an opportunity to expand into that space. He has been working with remarkable diligence in the nitty gritty of buying and selling while expanding his knowledge of the trade. There is a wide assortment of antiques from all over the world, with many items for collectors of Asian antiques. Masterpiece Antiques is well on its way. I shop there regularly.
