Marlborough Street Apartments - Skyline Living

Apartments here come in three unit sizes: Bachelor/Studio, One Bedroom, and Two Bedroom. The apartments are adequately sized in an open-concept design with neutral colour tones and high rise ceilings. The interior is tastefully renovated with your own balcony access. The building, I believe, was built in the 1960's. In contrast to the nice apartments, the building is dated. Dated buildings tend to require upkeep maintenance to prevent further problems. In this building, several brick wall cracks have appeared. As a result, water has begun to leak inside the building into the walls and under the flooring. Since the leaked-in water cannot dry, mold has begun to grow - the owning corporation, Skyline, appears to be aware of these problems, yet structure fixes and solutions are not put in place. Fixes that do occur appear to be done cheaply, as the leak problem comes back several months later in worse condition. The hallways are carpet. The carpets appear old and look like they have not been shampooed in decades. Once in a while, hired housekeepers vacuum the carpets, though, this has only happened a few times. As a result, the air quality is not the greatest. On your signing lease, you will read a set of building rules and guidelines. These are to be followed in respect to Skyline, the building, and other renting tenants. Majority of the rules are enforced and followed, though, some appear to be more relaxed and not enforced at all. You get assigned your own parking spot, which is nice. There are no parking spot labels, though, the tenants appear respectful of other people's spots. Overall, the apartments and location are excellent. The infrastructure and air quality... not so much.
