Forest Rollercoaster!! Great job on the trail, this is really fun and well done. Very flowy, scenic ride, lots of the trail is in the trees, away from the road. There are some ups, but they are designed well, and good time downs. Highly recommend.

It's beautiful and we had lots of fun but this is not a family bike trail! The hairpin turns are just that and the rollercoaster description is perfect. A repaved Westside Road with a bike trail along the side would be a perfect pairing for the rest of the family.

Did it on an E-bike and that made the hills easier. E-bikes up to 500W are allowed. One of the nicest trails I have been on. Rode it in July and they were preparing for paving the rest.

The Westside Legacy Trail is a fine ride through this stretch of the Columbia Valley, from Invermere to Fairmont Hot Springs. This is no rail bed. The trail goes up and down following the terrain in a way no modern road would. It's paved* and marked. There are also rest areas and informative signs periodically. * In July 2020 work was underway to complete paving on the southern end.

Beautifully paved trail from invermere to fairmont. Lots of switchbacks and fairly challenging on a hard tail bike.

This family-friendly trail linking two communities on the west side of the lake came together because of a massive effort that brought together everyone in the community, as well as several levels of government and major land holders in the area. Located just beside the parking lot at the North end of the trail, adjacent to an outhouse and several picnic tables, the kiosk tells the story of the trail and lists all of the people that donated to help make it happen. It's a testament to what we can achieve when we work together! If you are with young children, or pushing a manual wheelchair, you might want to avoid starting at the North end of the trail and instead start at the second parking lot, at the south end of the first segment and then head south from there. The first segment has some very steep hill climbs and there are numerous places where you would not want to fall off the side of the trail. Take it slow and easy and enjoy the rapid changes in vegetation and habitat along the way! If you're lucky and watch closely, you may see several bird species you're not likely to see elsewhere in the valley in drier areas.
