★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hired Mark Smith as my parenting coordinator following a decision to separate that my ex and I arrived at out of court. Despite my efforts to find a PC who would be neutral, transparent, communicative, therapeutic, and adept at mediating the challenges of coparenting with me and my ex, once we had signed the contract, it turned out that Mr. Smith’s practice was essentially limited to a rough and ragged kind of email correspondence and a hammer to send us to court like dogs to a bone. He was never willing to speak with me privately, or arrange meetings, and often got himself lost in the mazes of email that he created. My ex later revealed to me the very private email correspondence that he had with Mr. Smith, including the strategies that Mr. Smith proposed to my ex to “get back” at me by issuing “a stack” of determinations to use “against me” in court. People will tell you not to swim with sharks; here is a warning to weary coparents not to swim with Mark S.
