My grandmother has lived here for many years and paid their very high prices. While the facilities are beautiful they lack in their food service. The food that they feed their residents is down right neglect, and does not reflect the money that they are paying. I would not recommend this facility in the future.

My parents were residents for ten years at Marina Point both in the independent living section and in the assisted living section. They were among the first to live there. They never complained and only praised the facility and the staff. After moving into the assisted living section their praise never waned. On my own visits there I found the place to be an excellent environment for them -- excellent location, very good care and I knew they were safe. After dad's death Mom stayed on for about year but her dementia was becoming more pronounced and an assessment was made and it was determined that she needed to go elsewhere for care. We went to Cassellholme -- that was a good choice too. But, I don't fault Marina Point for "screening" or assessing potential residents. They have a high standard of care that they can offer and persons with greater needs they just can't accommodate. They can't give the care to a person who needs care beyond which they can reliably offer. I was sorry Mom had to leave Marina Point...but they could'nt give her the care she needed and would need as time progressed. But, I applaud Marina Point for the care and safety they provide to their residents. Someday, I might be there.

This is an excellent facility, with a long (years) waiting list. But they do not accept anyone with any symptoms of dementia, something not explained until the final stages of your move. They do an assessment ostensibly to determine whether you are fit for independent (kitchen-equipped) residences or whether you should be in the assisted living residences. But this assessment is really designed to assess mental health and you will not be accepted if you fail this test. I am not sure if this discrimination is legal, but it is real. If in doubt about the perfection of your mind, now or after two years of waiting, do yourself a favor and go to the Empire.
