Marianopolis College

Lovely, clean, covid19 responsible college! We were greeted by a security guard who explained more about school life than we would learn at orientation.

This college is good for people who aim at succeeding. It treats students as adults and gives them the tools to succeed. Success is admired and respected. For students who prefer to have a social/ less driven experience, the school can seem bad because of misaligned priorities between the school and the student. That said, the competition is not dirty, it is an honest system and your success depends on you, it is like an honest contract between the school and the student.

This school made me a wise and wealthy man. Easiest way to enter the Westmount community.

Prepares you for the real world. People complain that schools don't prepare you for adult life nowadays; Marianopolis isn't one of them. An analogy for the competitiveness here is like playing hockey in the NHL. It's obviously more difficult to play in the major leagues than at your local rink; you're surrounded by the best. For those who aspire to be great, this is the biggest perk. When you make it here, you know you can make it anywhere; when you're not good enough at first, you can learn from the best to improve yourself so that when you leave here, you'll be NHL material. Going to an easier CEGEP will only shield you from this competitiveness temporarily. When you reach university, and later in life when you're competing for jobs, there will be Marianopolis alumni also vying for what you want, and you'll have to compete with them eventually. When I attended, I learned so many tactics people employed to gain leadership positions in clubs, to secure interviews and offers, to study efficiently, and to achieve their dreams. I forgot most of what I learned in the classrooms now, but all those soft skills remain with me today. When I look at the LinkedIns of my former classmates, I can't help but be impressed at the careers we're all leading today: surgeons, investment bankers, management consultants, big law, M7 MBA, software engineers at FANG and in quant finance. Even the ones who graduated with an unimpressive R-score eventually achieved great things. Come to Marianopolis if you want to experience what being an adult is really like for the first time in your life (red pill), or go to a party CEGEP if you wish to just continue being a teenager 2.0 (blue pill).

Winter, campus morning, quiet and beautiful.

Bad cégep. Doesn't care about mental health of students. Best bet is if you struggle mentally RUN from Marianopolis because seems like mental health is a big joke to them even with good documentation. Not sure what they're doing with all that tuition money but any other school like Dawson, Vanier or JAC has better accessibility for students with needs for a fraction of the price.

Awful Cegep. They don’t care about you whatsoever. The dean is the worst. Ms koustopolous, careless, rude and embarrassing to have as a leader of a school.

I had a good experience in this CÉGEP. It prepared me well for university. It is quite focused on academic achievement, so yes competitive but not in an unhealthy way, but it's definitely not for everyone. Basically you will be surrounded by budding geniuses. Back then I went for open house visit and made my own choice to go there, did not regret it. Would recommend to tour the place, talk to a few alumni before making the decision.
