March Academy has given me numerous skills and tools that have helped me achieve so much. I would highly recommend MA to anyone who is looking for a fresh take on education that focuses on individual learning needs while also teaching life skills. The teachers are caring and have helped me beyond my time at school with references and coop placements. They truly care about the success of their students and will go above and beyond to make it happen.

Wonderful school that addresses the whole child. Our children love all the extra activities that are not normally offered at a regular school such as: weekly piano lessons, yoga, Taekwondo and nature study - cross country skiing in the winter! The teachers have a wealth of experience. I would not hesitate to recommend March Academy.

We spent $80k in tuition over 4 years at March academy during the original ownership. It was a financial sacrifice for our family, but our two kids thrived there, so we were mostly happy. Unfortunately tuition increased 15% the last year of original ownership and new owner decided to reduce the sibling discount for next year. On the same token a few families were offered special tuition discounts. The increase in tuition for us, but not for others, helped us made the decision to leave.

Excellent school!!!! Quality, thoughtful, education in a beautiful facility. I have very well behaved respectful kids and they fit in beautifully at March Academy. This school is enriching our children's lives with a love of learning with a great curriculum with inspiring and excellent teachers.

Excellent School, Fantastic Teachers, highly professional and committed private educators. Teachers were attentive to concerns and always provided solutions when problems arose. This is NOT your ordinary school, this is what schools should be! Between our two girls, we attended 9 years at this school and don’t regret a moment. Sending our kids to March Academy felt like sending them to an extended family which gave them a foundation and set them up for the future.

Two of our children attended March Academy for independent reasons, for which we have been extremely grateful for over 14 yrs. Our daughter flourished during her 6 years at March Academy, where they understood her unique learning needs which have helped her become more confident and successful. She has now completed her post secondary program, is living independently and working in a field she loves. Our son entered in grade 4, and became less anxious and gained great self esteem, which in turn allowed him to improve his academic skills. He has become a leader and is enjoying his program at Algonquin College. The symbol for March Academy is the compass, this comes to mind when we think of our children’s relationship with the school. Finding your way in this world can be made much easier if there’s someone who’s helping point you in the right direction, with the right tools. If you are reading this then you already have reason to believe that your child is not in the best environment, we have been there, and we can honestly say that March Academy’s competent, caring and focused staff have helped set all of us on the right path.

I was very ill-prepared for the public system after I left this school. Both socially and academically. I was behind academically after attending this school because they only taught a limited amount of subjects and the subjects they did teach were dulled down. I was lagging socially because of how small the school is and the fact that the teachers wouldn’t really allow us to socialize. Recess and lunch we’re almost like a prison environment they would make us do “silent lunch” and “silent recess” everyday so really no chance to socialize. I thought the entire purpose of this school was to prepare kids with learning difficulties to return to the public system when in reality it set me back.

The school’s perception of their students are grounds for sanism. The fact the school exists is discrimination. Sanism is the prejudice/psychological distortion against someone who is mentally challenged or is labeled as mentally challenged. This is furthered by the fact, the school promotes a culture of shame about your disability because the entire mentality of the teachers and the school program is to “convert” students to not be mentally challenged or disabled and that you are to fit the mold the teachers decide upon. If you don’t fit that mold your are shamed and your spirits broken to make you conform to what they deem “normal”. This mentality is completely backwards and further victimizes a group of people who already face challenges. Instead of forcing disabled children to change harmless characteristics about themselves why don’t we teach society to be more accepting to disabled people. This kind of school is like modern day segregation.
