UPDATE. 19Oct2020. Follow up on this review and follow up review below. I had initially called company after they refused to acknowledge damage to vintage motorcycle they shipped. I followed up with calls to Kathy Perkins (assistant to vice president I believe) who did not return calls. I sought advice about what to do next and decided to try to contact company again, as Manitoulin Transports suggest below every review. I subsequently left messages for Melanie Carr, Manitoulin claims manager. These also were not returned. It has been a significant challenge trying to deal with the damage. I am a front line health worker(doctor) and trying to deal with all the stress and time constraints that Covid entails and then dealing with a Canadian company that won't even provide the courtesy of returning calls is very disheartening. This old motorcycle wasn't expensive but it was to be my escape from dealing with the stress of caring for patients in a pandemic. It has bee interesting to get google updates every time 50 more people read your reviews. It is nice to know that re views that people leave for big businesses are at least seen by someone. I gave them photos time stamped less then an hour from when I picked up shipment . Photos show motorcycle still in crate, badly damaged, crate shattered under the external wrapping, crate still in bed of truck they loaded shipment in to. Initial Review Had vintage motorcycle shipped from Thunder Bay. It was crated in 2 x4 lumber. Crate was broken...2 of the 2 x 4 broken in half and motorcycle damaged beyond salvage. This would have required significant force on level of being dropped from a height. I documented all of this with photos at time of opening. Shipper had initially told me shipment was not insured so I didnt contact Manitoulin until it became apparent seller wasnt going to help. I provided original photos with dates and had inspection report from their inspector. Manitoulin denied any mishandling in their system and I was denied any compensation. The claims handler was polite but not interested in follow up. I would strongly advise you open and inspect all goods at their facility on receipt. If you sign that you received package without inspecting all contained material they deny any responsibility for their handling. My claim wasnt much but it certainly demonstrated lack of interest in a small customer. Proceed with caution.

This is a follow up to review below about badly damaged motorcycle. Manitoulin owner responded to review with telephone number and invitation to call and discuss as customer satisfaction tion is important to them. I have done so and have left messages with no response. This appears to be a standard response to negative reviews and so far has led to nothing more then unreturned calls. I will leave it to the reader to judge for themselves what this means....it will be amusing if they do that after this update.i will continue to update this saga as events warrant. Stay safe.

Some of your drivers need serious driving habit improvements. No comment about your freight moving capabilities, but you should keep a close eye when you see a Manitoulin on the move. Not sure if these guys drive drunk, high, asleep, or if they even have proper class of license for what they are doing, but I now steer clear of these bozos, just never know what is going to happen when encountering some of these clowns on the roads. And to be fair, yeah there are other problem companies out there too, but Manitoulins seem to be everywhere, and some of them really stick out like a sore thumb.

Terrible experience. Driver barely spoke to us, and couldn't even unload by our receiving door. Just dropped our dishwasher in the parking lot and left.
