Both my daughter and son are enrolled in swim lessons at the Making Waves Vaughan location. My children are 3 and 6 years of age. I had read reviews on Making Waves and all I heard was good things about the swim school and I can honestly say that it's all true. My children are timid which makes it difficult for them to get comfortable with new people. Yes, the first week my children struggled, but I couldn't believe how compassionate the instructors and lead instructors were. This resulted in my children feeling better over the course of the next few lessons. I can really appreciate how the lead instructor is always around to assist and help out when needed. We have just completed week 4 and my wife and I came to the realization that we came to the right swim school. I am very happy with Making Waves swim school and although it's a business, it's obvious that the focus is on teaching children to swim. Which undoubtedly is done with passion by all instructors. Honestly, the team at Making Waves seriously rocks. They are definitely experts at what they do and they know how to work with children in the early stages of learning to swim. My wife and I want to personally thank Ty, Alessia, Melissa and Samantha since they've made my family experience here at Making Waves such a positive one. I don't know what more to say than thank you. I congratulate the management team and ownership on running such a well organized and family friendly swim school. Keep up the good work!

My son was 2.5 years old when we enrolled him. At the time we thought he was ready for the beginner class because we were doing parent and tot classes in the community and he kept wanting to do the skills by himself and also he goes to daycare so not super attached to us. At first he would cry and say he didn't like swimming anymore which was fine because I get that it's a new environment with new faces. After a few weeks he started to bond with the instructor and say he liked swimming again and didn't really cry anymore when we brought him. After that though, they changed his instructor twice and it just went downhill from there. Then they got me to fill out a survey and when I expressed my feelings about not being the happiest with his results.. They pretty much stopped giving us progress reports at the end of the class probably because he would cry pretty much the entire 1/2 hour. I thought given his age and the likelihood that he would have some separation anxiety, they could have paired him with more experienced instructors.. Ones that are more skilled in dealing with a child who initially cries a lot. My advice is.. Unless you did parent and tot classes at the same facility then it's probably fine to enroll them into the beginner class earlier, but if you didn't then wait until your child is older. Not the greatest experience for us and definitely not worth the $500 plus we spent.

Making Waves Swim School at the Vaughan location has been truly amazing thus far. The staff are enthusiastic, very positive and encouraging. The classes are 30 minutes long with a student ratio of 3:1, who are closely at the same swimming level. The instructor equally splits the time developing specific skills for each individual. My son loves learning here! Also the facility is nice and clean.

This was my first trip to Making Waves. The classes were more costly then our local community centre so we were interested in knowing the differences. We liked the facilities. The staff were kind and the front desk took the time to give me a quick tour. There were separate changing stalls in the change room which was great for privacy. One bonus was the bathing suit drying machine so that we did not have to go home with a wet bathing suit. The change room also had individual seats for kids and provided individual hair dryers. The pool was kept warm for kids at 91Β° F so it was perfect for learning. The classes were small - in our class it was a 3:1 ratio so my daughter got a lot of swimming time. The instructor was kind and patient. He also took the time to let us know how our child did and what things they should work on for the next class. Overall we had a good first experience and look forward to more lessons at Making Waves!

great stuff and swimming lessons, but the changing room is freezing in the winter time especially right after getting out of the pool with my baby. Community swimming pool facility was much warmer as well as their pool temperature.

Honestly, I am truly impressed by this amazing experience we had with this swim school. I've had my fair share of swim instructors and to be straight with you... I am so caught by surprise how they took control and helped my child beat her fear from water after one assessment. Other places would just give up and move on, but just seeing how patient and full of care for my child had me SOLD, and completely grateful for doing so. This TEAM of professionals will have your child swim before you know it. I'M WOWED!!! THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH!!!! Xo ???
