Our Store
Main Bread and Butter Company was started in 1997 by two brothers, Chris and Robert Goertzen.
Local food products were quickly becoming difficult to find in Steinbach due to the rapid changes in the local grocery market and Main Bread & Butter set out to provide these products for the Steinbach area.
The business has since developed into a busy meeting place for people to pick up their local products as well as unique food items from around the world. Known for its fresh breads, cheeses and deli meats, Main Bread and Butter also has become a popular lunch spot where you can pick up delicious soup and a sandwich or fresh pasta meals, made right in the store everyday.
Located at 253 Main Street in Steinbach, Main Bread & Butter is in the heart of downtown Steinbach; convenient parking is along Main Street or next door.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always excellent food (ready to eat soups (Cabbage Borscht and Chicken Noodle being my faves) and made to order Sandwiches) and friendly informative customer service. If you're not in the mood for sit down meal; the store filled with what feels like anything and everything you could think of for you're next meal ("Mennonite" or not)!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Usually a nice experience, but if your pin pad is down, maybe tell your staff to put some sort of indication on the door? Maybe A nice little paper sign saying Cash only or even tell people as they come in? Would be real nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is so great! It's very easy to order and the prices are very reasonable! I got a turkey sandwich which came on the softest bread and with the crunchiest pickles! The soup was potato and it honestly blew my expectations away with the sausage, beans, and cabbage added in. It's the perfect lunch/date spot! Afterwards my boyfriend and I browsed the store and there is a great selection of teas, cheeses, spices, breads, veggies, and more! If you're ever in Steinbach you should stop by! I will definitely be visiting again!
