About Mac Insurance and Registry (South Edmonton)
I have been dealing with Mac Insurance since we moved to Edmonton in 2012. In each encounter with the team they have been extremely helpful, informative, and accommodating. We unfortunately had a basement flood in our house shortly after moving. Our agent at Mac Insurance was available to guide us through the process at 11 pm on a Friday night, even though he was at home with his family. An experience that is generally quite stressful and inconvenient was handled so well by the team at Mac Insurance that stress was not a factor. I would highly recommend Mac Insurance to anyone looking for a best in class experience from their insurance provider.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great experience with Sahil as my examiner today. He is really polite and it never feels like he's hovering. He really makes the environment relaxed and is super calm. He even gives helpful advice as you're driving just to improve little things which I found quite helpful. Definitely had an overall good experience at this registry. Everything went quickly and pretty smoothly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Experience. Great hours. It is opened until 8.30 on monday which helps a lot. Staff is very nice. I went there with friend to renew driving License and register a vehicle. The lady on the other side was very calm and helped us through the process. Komal helped us with the with the driving license renewal, register my friends car and gave us enough time to go through with the documents. After that, we had some question about health card and she explained whole process in details. I would recommend my friends to go to this registry as they won't waste your time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a really bad experience at this location. Jan13@2:15pm. I booked a road test for my daughter. We were there 30 minutes early as they require. The instructor showed up late, didn’t introduce him her properly. His name is (Sanjay or sunny)
Anyways, he gave the keys to my daughter to go and start the car, as we rented from the registry.
he seen very unprofessional at his job.
Any ways, when my daughter come back, she told me how bad he make her feel. He was shouting at her, tell her “hey man!!!! What are you doing! Tell her to move to other line suddenly. That day the roads were very bad shape, ( slippery) he took her on around residential area and was yelling at her because the car was getting stuck on the road. My daughter was very disturbed that day. She said he was very rude, impolite, and had no patience.
My daughter, drives me everywhere, and bring my daughters to school. She’s being practicing a lot. At the end he fail the test. She wasn’t upset about failing the road test but she was upset because he wasn’t unfair with her.
I personally believe, the instructors should show respect, patience and make the driver feel comfortable, because people feels nervous,
instead of making then feel uncomfortable.

He was very calm and professional during the test, overall it was great experience as he pointed out my mistakes after the test, so that I can improve to make my driving skill safe and secure, at end of the test I passed with minimal points deductions.
Overall it was great experience with examiner and Registry staff.
Recommend everyone will be back again.?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible experience with the road test examiner, very unprofessional, hostile and honestly scaring. He didn’t introduce himself prior to the exam or at all. This examiner screamed at me, repeatedly. I stopped at a stop line, waited 3-5 seconds, inched forward to be aware of traffic since it wasn’t visible. I didn’t even reach the stop sign, this examiner grabbed my wheel & STARTED YELLING as if his life was in danger. I was going less than 5km/hr and my foot was off the gas pedal, ready to press the break at any given minute since I was just trying to make myself aware of traffic that wasn’t in my view. I even apologized to the examiner since I understand he cannot read my mind, Maybe what I did was against the rules (I’m still unsure since he didn’t explain further) and I thought I might have scared him (since he was screaming at me.) But he did the same exact thing once again. He shouldn’t be taking driving tests if he doesn’t have any common sense on how to properly interact with another person. Yelling at someone is never okay mostly DURING a test. That was downright disrespectful and I believe I couldn’t perform my test to the best of ability because I was scared, I had a stranger in my car yelling at me and I wasn’t sure when or what would set him off again. It felt like a very unsafe environment to be in and I would definitely not recommend going here for your test if you have any type of anxiety. After the road test the examiner didn’t go through the checklist with me so I’m unsure about what I can improve on. This registry also overcharges for their road test by 12$ so save yourself an anxiety attack and book your test somewhere else with a safe environment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my Class 5 advance road test here. It was an excellent experience overall. The staff was very helpful and so was my examiner - Ruby ma’am. Throughout the test she was calm and gave clear instructions. Her calm and friendly behaviour made it both less stressful and possible to pass the test with minimal points.
Highly recommend this registry and the examiner!
