Finding a good roofing company to maintain your roof is a daunting task. With so few reputable companies, you’re looking for a needle in a haystack. Many of them are one-man operations, many are trying to handle more than they can, and most haven’t been in operation for very long. Each year, many roofing companies disappear, and replaced by new ones. Often these newcomers will try to break into the market by offering more services than they can deliver at rates that seem too good to be true – and usually are. Things work out for a while, but before long, making pennies on the dollar isn’t good enough for most and they disappear.
The Lockhart family have been in Winnipeg since 1883, Lockhart Roofing & Renovations has been looking after roofs 8 decades plus. Over the past few years we have expanded dramatically. We’re Manitoba’s oldest professional steep sloped roofing contractor and we’re still the best. We were instrumental in forming the oldest (and presently only) North American steep slope roofing association, the Manitoba Shingling Contractors Association (MSCA). James Lockhart was the president of the MSCA from 1976 to 1988, and the organization co-hosted Canada’s first shingling training school in Winnipeg in 1979.

She has repeatedly called to have them come out, he shows up with a caulking gun and when it rains the roof leaks again. He is rude on the phone. I would definitely not recommend this company. I will also be contacting the BBB on Monday. Nothing worse then taking advantage of a 74 yo women.

Renovations included- new shingles , some roof repair, soffit, fascia, eaves trough, downspouts, new skylight, ventilation fan in bathroom. I was impressed with the excellent workmanship, professional and personal integrity. He gave great advice re design and home maintenance tips - crew were respectful.
I am getting ready to retire, list my house and relocate to another province. I am so grateful

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had my roof done couple of years ago, one star is not mostly for the roof work (though my car did got stabbed by a nail left in the driveway…but they reimbursed me), but it’s that he is rude through the phone while I was checking my warranty with them and I think there might be a problem with the vent installation on the roof. Totally different attitudes compare to when he was trying to sell the services.
