Most racially bias institution in Alberta if you are not certain race you will be looked down so badly and they will prefer not serving you at all even if you are member. Punch of hooligans, the government should look into this

Pro-Union. I'm for Union's unfortunately this hall needs to be cleaned up. Every other union has travel cards for non-albertans to bid on jobs. This union doesn't so east coaster's can sit on board for a year collecting EI and let their number drop and when the year is up can cherry pick job's and most likely a namehire. They aren't albertans/locals and when layoffs come they should be going home first instead they tend yo be kept on to collect enough hours for EI and repeat the process. The amount of namehiring/recalls in this hall is also ridiculous and even though there's supposed to be a limit nothing is enforced. If you've had to be represented you'll learn there isn't much support. BA's rarely go to job sites anymore and haven't seen one in who knows how long. The "power" of being organized has been a fairly consistent loss of leverages, wages such a double time etc you can't even strike or have job action without the threat of being heavily fined. Job Stewarts recieve no real benefits yet expected to represent you, basically only there to witness any punishment you may recieve. Hopefully this hall has a change in the future and Albertans prosper and can share that prosperity when time's are good as well.

Not a big fan, the company I was working for decided to use a union labour force, did not consult the current employees I found out when union workers shown up on site. Was told not to worry and that I had 3 months to be signed on in that time I had no contact with any rep. Decided to facilitate things on my end got the number to a rep threw a co-worker as my boss was not forthcoming. Everything seemed good at first made an appointment the rep cancelled, we rescheduled cancelled again this went on for several weeks. Eventually I go laid off the rep led me on as if it was not an issue then started the make an appointment and cancel schtick again and eventually stop answering. I lost job opportunities because I was hedging my bet on getting signed on. Suffice to say I am no an advocate for this local I doubt they would do a good job representing a member who pays a thousand dollar initiation and dues. If they had no intention of signing me up they could have had the decency to say so not work to screw me over. And they say they care about the working class sure they do. I even went to the union office could not get past the wicket where the lady behind the glass basically gave me the number of the same union rep who kept putting me off and refused to direct me to someone with authority to deal with this issue i found them very dismissive. Reading the comment it seems as if others are having issues ignore the PROPAGANDA this local is seriously un professional and inept. I personally see the potential value in labour unions though like anything else they need to be accountable and well managed. I would describe 92 as legal extortionist taking your money for the privilege to work with little advocacy for the membership.
