Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Took down our contact information for contract tracing. It wasn't busy on a Sunday afternoon. The food was surprisingly not bad and the service was not bad. All the servers and kitchen staff were wearing masks. The shrimp toast was a bit too oily for me. It seems like it had soaked up all the oil. The shrimp dumpling skin was too thick but there was a good amount of shrimp inside and was flavoured nicely. The fried chicken knees was one of our favourite dishes. It was crunchy and chewy. Flavoured nicely. Would order this again. The sesame matcha balls was our favourite. There was close to no matcha flavour. It tasted mostly of sesame which was fine for me because I love sesame. It wasn't overly sweet and I loved the bitterness of the sesame. The mochi was also really chewy. The taro curry ball with scallop on top was a bit of a downer. The curry on the inside was a bit cold as it was colder than the outside so they probably didn't fry it all the way. The flavour was not bad but again the oil got soaked all the way through. There was a bit of a mishap with the rice balls with pork filling as it wasn't cooked all the way through. But they were apologetic and gave us a new one right away. The rice flour flavour from the outside was a bit too strong for me and also too thick but I liked the crispiness of the outside as it's a bit different from other dimsum places. Overall I thought the flavours were okay but some of the fried stuff could have been fried better. This place is perfect for smaller groups to go to as each dish comes with two pieces instead of the usual three or four so you can try more dishes. I would definitely recommend the fried chicken knees and the matcha sesame glutinous rice balls.

Excellent service. Friendly staff. Great Covid consciousness. Restaurant is much bigger than it seems from the front, which is why we've never been here before (it always seems really packed from the front window). We had one of everything from the Garden menu (a further 2 plates arrived after taking the photo) coupled with a flight of beers and a Jasmine tea. The food was excellent. Having never had Dim Sum before we were really impressed with the variety of flavors, textures, colours and smells. Highly recommended spot!

If I could give this 6 stars I would!!!! Little Bird was my first time eating Dim Sum and when I return to Calgary I will be searching for my go to place there! Every time I visit Vancouver I will make sure to dine at Little Bird! Matteo was a great host and the serving team was fantastic at answering questions and delivering our dishes hot from the kitchen! Every dish we had was delicious and amazing, very great value for the price! We had the Chive and Shrimp Dumplings, Fried Garlic Squid, Vegetarian Sticky Rice, Scallop Taro Puff, Baby Gai Lan, and Steamed BBQ Pork Bun!

Very high price point for small portions. Was never asked or checked to refill our water. Servers were unsure of which sauces and desserts were vegan or not. Food was mediocre/disappointing. Bean curd rolls were overcooked/burnt, and overall every savoury vegan dim sum dish I had was very bland. The only thing I enjoyed was the matcha sesame balls, but even they didn’t taste like matcha at all.

Came here on a spontaneous Saturday night the eve eve of Chinese New Year and was pleasantly surprised by the tasty dim sum and beer. Had the taro puff, veg sticky rice, fried garlic squid, cilantro and shrimp dumping, shui mai, and finished with egg tart. All of them were super tasty with the chili oil! Definitely adding this to the rotation. They really should open more of these around town. Dim sum & beer is a great concept. So glad I don’t have to go to the east side anymore for dim sum!

Great selection of dim sum! Everything was tasty and seemed homemade. The place was clean, the service quick, the music at the right level (we could still hear ourselves talk and enjoy the jazzy selection). Big thumbs up for their craft beer option (pretty rare at dim sum places). I would definitely go back next time I'm in Vancouver!

There is a lot to like about this place, but it just needs a little more refinement. The story is great (owner is the son of the classic Flamingo restaurant), the concept is good (dim sum at any time) and the food is tasty. That said, they fall short in a couple of ways. The dim sum is good, but I wish they’d also have some more substantial dishes including more veg options…all dumplings and fried food can get pretty heavy. If the concept is drinking and dumplings, they also need a more elaborate drink list and some better specialty cocktails. Finally, dim sum is usually a social affair and most of the seats are small tables of 4. In my opinion, few changes and some better marketing would serve this place well.

Good food. Solid high quality dim sum with modern twist. Especially recommend taro puff. Great beer selections. Looking forward to trying their wines next time. The interior is sleek, while warm. Really friendly staff. This restaurant is a great place to have a drink with friends or on your own.
