Lions Festival of Lights - 35th Annual Lions Festival of Lights - Lionsfestivaloflights.ca
The Festival has been organized by the Lions Festival of Lights Society for 35 years now. Lions from Calgary and area donate their time to construct and set up the displays. There are however many more people that contribute to the success of the event. Sponsors come forward with financial support or supplies to help fund the basics. Volunteers are the essential link to making the festival happen, without them the society or display would not be what it is today.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The 5-stars is for the last years. It was an wonderful winter park at the edge of golf course with a toboggan hill, walking alleys, and lots and lots of wonderful light displays. This year it was announced as "limited in size" but they didn't mention that limit was next to zero. I don't understand why they call it "open" at all and confuse people. It is simply closed this year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Frustrating to see the 1 star reviews from the last few months. If you’d look at the Lions Festival of Lights website, or the news, or even just think for 2 seconds it might occur to you that the reason there were few lights this year is so that massive crowds don’t gather and mingle like usual so we don’t all give each other COVID! Every year they do an absolutely beautiful display, they took good and safe steps this year to honour the message but dissuade crowds, and I hope all the disgruntled reviewers can come by next year when things are safer to enjoy the full set up.
