About Lion's Park

Our Vision

Martensville is a community of families, friends, and neighbours where we work, play and grow together in a safe, active, and healthy environment.- Martensville is a great place to call home.

Martensville is located eight kilometers north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Accessible via the double-lane Highway 12, and a short distance from the John G. Diefenbaker International Airport, Martensville is one of Western Canada's fastest growing cities. In the last decade the city has grown about 7% per year. Martensville is also a young city - 75% of the community’s population is under the age of 45.

Martensville was founded in 1939 when Isaac Martens and his son Dave, purchased land twelve kilometers north of Saskatoon. Dave Martens then sold three small parcels of this land to a number of people who wanted to move out of Saskatoon. A school was established in 1953 on land donated by Jake Gerbrandt and the community began to grow. The community was incorporated as a village in 1966 and as a town in 1969.  In 2009, Martensville was incorporated as a city.

Our Mission

The kids love this place! Running up the hill, rocking the swings, riding the unique teeter totter, playing in the water park, and Frisbee in the open field. They even have a portapotty which has saved us a few times.

Great place for the kids to play and parents to talk while the kids are either playing in the sand or the swings or in the spray pool

There are metal and plastic slides here. The spray park is great for little children, though it is looking like it could use some TLC.

Great park for the kiddies. The spray park is a ton of fun on those hot summer days and the park is quite big with lots of equipment to play on. Also has lots of space to run around and burn off energy.
