it wasn't the best when i went there, the food was terrible didn't have much of it, the herbs were wilted and not fresh. Didn't learn a lot of neat recipes, just some basic food. They didn't teach us how to cook a duck properly also the knives dulled really quick, i got a better knife set for $15 and it better then what i got at this school (should just buy your own tools, had to buy our own heat proof spatula which with how much this school cost, we should have been able to get good quality tools to work with.

I started at Liaison college in October, after already having 8 years in the industry I thought school would be easy, Chef Steve taught me to take better care of the ingredients and use the information provided, along with theory and terms. Now in the advanced portion of my term Chef Dan a C.C.C Chef is teaching us how to run our kitchens and take our knowledge and passion and let it show in our food, Chef Dan is teaching us the importance of being on time and showing up to class. Murline,Angee,Nicole are the heart of Liaison and make every attempt and effort to make things run smoothly, Liaison is a small family always available to offer guidence to help you further your career. I chose Liaison college Hamilton, for a number of reasons; The student to teacher ratio, the technical and practical skills learned, and the short program length were all appealing aspects. The administrative staff and the Chef instructors (Chef Steve and Chef Dan) of the college are all factors in my accomplishments, because they wanted me and each student alike to succeed. I would recommend Liaison College Hamilton, to anyone that have serious aspirations to work with food.

Anyone interested in becoming a qualified chef must avoid this school- it’s not affiliated with the Ontario Apprenticeship program nor do the hours count towards a Red Seal. It’s a scam (β€œlive the Dream! Become a Chef!”) and complete waste of money. Zero stars was not an option.

Small class sizes, a flexible course schedule and the ability to complete the entire program in an eight month period led me to enrol at Liaison College Hamilton Campus. I was someone who already had a β€œcareer”, but I was unhappy. I wanted change and the chance to learn the required skills to pursue my true passion....cooking. Upon my first meeting with Chef Daniel I knew Liaison was the right choice for me. I was given many options as far as scheduling, course dates and financial options. Throughout my eight months at Liaison I was engaged and challenged by both Chef Dan and Chef Steve daily to be better and do better. The small class sizes made for an optimal learning experience. All of my questions, concerns or any feedback I feel I needed were always available immediately. My time at Liaison was the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life. Murline, Nicole, Chef Dan and Chef Steve were an amazing support system for someone going through a major career change. I always felt like a family member and was never treated as β€œjust a student”. I developed several friendships that I know will last a lifetime. Chef Dan and Chef Steve continue to mentor me to this day and have guided me into my new career. Their support and guidance means more than they will ever know. I am now employed full-time at an award winning winery in the Niagara Region. The skills and training I received at Liaison led me to a promotion and a raise within my first five months of employment! Melissa S. Chef de Cuisine Diploma completed October, 2014.

I love cooking even when I was young. And I dreamed of becoming a chef one day. I came to Canada as a Live-in caregiver or nanny. I worked for a family for more than 4 years, but my dream did not stop there. When I was given the chance to go to school, I looked around for a good culinary school and found Liaison College through the billboard advertisement in the streets of Hamilton. And I looked in the internet the nearest branch of Liaison College in my workplace and the culinary program they are offering. Upon checking their website, I saw an opportunity because they have this part-time course for Diploma Cook Basic program that suits my work schedule. So, I went in Liaison College at Jackson Square branch to enroll and found it very interesting. The instructors were very helpful making it sure that we the students will learn the basic techniques of not only cooking but also baking. Our practical lessons helped me developed my skills and broaden my knowledge in cooking, giving me confidence to do such job. I am now working as a Sous Chef at Charred Rotisserie House. And I thanked Liaison College for helping me achieve my dream.

I attended the Brantford location. Absolutely horrible school. From poor methods of teaching, to artificial extracts and expired ingredients, all the way to charging twice as much as most other culinary schools for only 1 semester with inferior training. Every dish i had to cook was just a recipe handed to me (i could do that at home), with no demonstration or tips, and any theory was covered in the first few weeks. It also took almost 2 years to get my diploma after leaving the school. I didn't get my diploma until i threatened to sue the school on a few different occasions as well as contact the media about it. Would not recommend at all.

I graduated from Liaison College April 20, 2018. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to become a chef or even if you only want some basic cooking skills. I initially signed up to do the β€œCook Basic” course. I was having such a good time learning and applying what they taught us that I went and got a loan and signed up for the β€œAdvanced” class. I am now working as a cook and I love it. Christine Demko and her staff go above and beyond for their students. The instructors are top notch and the class sizes are relatively small. They will help you find a job after you graduate and even if you’re looking for another job 5-10 years later they will still help you. It was a very good experience. If you’re thinking of become a chef or just want to learn more in the kitchen for your family, then I highly suggest you look into Liaison. I’m happy I did. Thank you Liaison for making my dream come true!!!
