★ ★ ★ ★ ★ CAM Construction lost my ornate 19th century supporting column, it’s that they didn’t even realize it until I told them….
The brief description of their performance was that the work was sloppy and hastily done. The job is in an acceptable state now, but that’s only because at my insistence they redid large parts of the job twice.
It would take too long to list all of the problems, but to give you a flavor, let me explain about the supporting column. The job was to support and repair a balcony which had sagged over the years. To do so, they were to add a supporting column, bringing the number of columns up from 3 to 4. This involved making a reproduction of one of the columns.
When they came to do the job, everything seemed to be going well, so I went to work. When I came home, the job was done – except… there were still 3 supporting columns, only now 2 were original and 1 was a reproduction, instead of the 3 originals and 1 reproduction that was stipulated in the contract. Where oh where did my lovely 19th century woodwork go? Add to this that the balcony was still sagging and had not been leveled (this was the point of the job). A few weeks later they installed a second reproduction and the balcony was level, but really, I didn’t need the stress.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our project was a major outdoor renovation project (not a restauration project) for a traditional 1929 Outremont brick house including a detached brick garage requiring the work to be executed within the difficult constraints set by the municipality. Pierre Camirand personally established a climate of confidence during project initiation and planning. He assigned Roland Azar as a project manager who proved to be first rate in terms of day to day management, change management, and attention to details understanding that I had a business to run and little time to micro-manage the project with him. I have been through several construction projects over the years and it is difficult to find a company that can take care of both rough structural work and detailled finition work and this is where I think Roland made a big difference. Cam Construction is not cheap but they combine expertise and know-how that was evident throught the realization of the project and this for me has value in terms of piece of mind.

Very profesional team:
During quotation they suggested to remove some work that was not necessary, other companies did everything possible to put as much as they could.
The actual work, they protected everything making sure my trees and garden stay intact.
The followup was amazing some touch ups were done even after I paid in full without any hassle.
I greatly recommend Cam

They did excellent work and were very clear to communicate with. Roland, the project manager, has a gift for dealing with people and ensured that the tenants in the building and the neighbours were all happy while the work was underway. The end result of the project showed great care for their work and attention to detail. They are also honourable in their deal, and I am confident that this job will last for decades to come. They also did a perfect job cleaning up at the end. I would fully recommend them to anyone! Merci Cam!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have now used Cam for two separate projects, and both were expertly done. Having worked with both foremen Roland and Max, my experience has been one of attention to detail, care, and quick response. They have assisted in our restoration of the Montreal landmark, "Cadieux House" on Gouin Est., and this was no simple task. It included structural engineering work, roof, and stone work. Every possible care was taken to protect the building, its gardens, and create a first rate finished product. Also, as the president of the Syndicat Copropriété 1216 Saint Hubert, I was responsible for selecting a construction company to repoint our exterior wall, excavate the front of the building, and seal and reinforce the foundation. The quote came in, was accepted, and the work began as soon as the permits were acquired. They completed work quickly, did a reasonable clean up, and to my knowledge have done an excellent job. The restoration work on the 150 year old architectural masonry and foundation was expertly done without damage to the structure or the delicate facade. Interior work was also completed with the utmost respect for the tenant's private space and personal belongings in what could have been a very invasive and damaging process of masonry repair. If you choose CAM, be sure to request Roland or Max as your lead contractor. They were always available for consultation and present for the work. Nothing was done without our permission. Very satisfied customer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were extremely nervous to tackle such a renovation project, as we were planing a total reface of an 1877 built home on Ave. Laval. Thanks to CAM Construction, our project was completed without any major delays and on budget, including a few unforeseen extras. The team was extremely professional and always on time during the whole project. We also appreciated not to have to deal with the city for special permits (“Patrimoine” building/house), CAM did it all, one stop shop. Also, a special thanks to Roland for keeping his promise on delivering our house on time.
We highly recommend CAM for any exterior renovation project.
