Ruined our marriage, which we came to save. (We both lasted 2 sessions first time, but later agreed with my husband that it's not helping much), but later my husband returned. After unknown amount of one-on-one sessions with my husband, he was told to divorce me(!), as they concluded that I'm a passive-aggressive narcissist, who uses silent treatment, gas-lighting and blame shifting. Dear Heather Rennie, I'm unloved, dragged into conflicts despite my will and therefore stressed out wife (with 2 kids), unable to deal with it any longer I resorted to just "hang in there" mode. My attempt to defend myself are called "blame shifting", my conflict avoidance nature and quietness as I often don't know what else to say, instead of furious outbustrst are called "silent treatment" and "passive-agressiveness". My personality is totally opposite to "nascissists". I'm humble, conflict-avoidant and self-content person who finds happiness in little things in our lives. Yet, I will defend my beliefs and my views when challenged (I'm not a doormat). That's not a personality disorder called "inflated sence of importance" or "narcissist". It's a healthy reaction of any person with self-respect. Sorry to learn our 2 initial couple sessions did not provide any insight into our personalities and marriage issues, even though I was talking most of the time as I recall. Feel sorry for posting a negative review. But hope it will be helpful to future couples. May be our case is just an exception... no one will ever know. May power be with you in saving future marriages!

Professional, honest, sincere and sympathetic therapist ... I regard my time spent with Ms. Rennie to have been incredibly helpful in addressing my problems. I would not hesitate a blink in recommending her to anyone in need of counselling. Alexander

Heather is a fantastic counselor and she led many online support groups for cancer patients and families across Canada. Feedback from patients and families for Heather's work ranges from excellent to outstanding.

I had the privilege of working alongside Heather for a number of years in her various roles within BC Cancer, and always found her to be extremely knowledgeable and capable in whatever capacity she fulfilled. Heather is highly committed to improving the lives of others, which when allied to her caring and thoughtful approach, alongside her strong clinical abilities, would lead me to unreservedly recommend her services. I have worked with Heather for many years at BC Cancer. In both her personal and professional lives, and as a colleague, she is gentle, compassionate, ethical and conscientious. Heather is always trying to improve on and develop her skills to serve clients. She reflects on her practice and seeks consultation when she feels it could be helpful. The highest compliment I can give her is that I would never hesitate to recommend and refer others to her.

Heather designed and led a 12-week grief support group at our church in 2019. It was very well received by the participants, who grew very close and still keep in touch with one another. Heather is a well-organized, sincere, thoughtful and compassionate person. Although she has extensive training, she loves to learn and continues to add to her skills. I am pleased to refer people to her private practice whenever congregants from our church are in need of professional counselling. I trust her judgment in challenging situations and have seen the way she has handled herself with difficult people: calmly, generously, and honestly. It was because of her excellent work with the grief group that I invited her to join me in overseeing the 20 other small groups at our church. She has great ideas and advice, and I really value her opinion. I highly recommend that you give her a call if you're looking for a trustworthy counsellor for yourself or your family! I have known Heather in various professional capacities for over 30 years. She is the wisest and most compassionate therapist I know. I work as a Grief Counsellor (part of Heather's business) and she is my "go to" person when I want a second opinion. She is always offers very sound input that I find extremely helpful. Good therapy involves such a level of trust between client and therapist and that builds up over time and Heather builds that carefully. She truly cares about her clients and their well-being. I would absolutely trust her with any issue I struggled with. I would trust her with my life.
