Bon, on va s’y arrêter.
I'm not particularly dismissive. My fingers slipped into all the orifices of the human body and even into some orifices that do not normally exist. It is my job. However, and maybe this is a side effect of my job, I am sensitive to hygiene without being obsessive (I think). I am not a regular customer of Le Coin d'Italie but after a long day I sometimes want to please myself and my companion. And the day was long. So head for the Corner of Italy. I ask for cheese and little je ne sais quois that look like paninis. I am asked for the desired portion of cheese. But now the employee seizes the cheese. With his hands. Not washed before, no gloves. He pats my future piece of cheese. I tell myself that this must not be the first tapping of the day that this cheese experiences. Some will see it as a gesture of freedom or even a touch of craftsmanship. I see it as a lack of hygiene. Doubt sets in. Does he wash his hands sometimes? After the toilet? I leave with my supper under my arm, which is destined for the trash. I can afford what I want in life, but throwing away $25 worth of food that was supposed to be used to spoil myself and my partner is a bit disappointing. I walk past the Subway. Alright, we'll stop there. The employee washes her hands and puts on gloves before preparing our submarines...

The welcome was warm, advice was helpful, clean and well presented large variety of hard to find products. I purchased items that were not on my list. Just ate their take-away Mediterranean Salad for lunch, and regret I didn't purchase the larger container as it was so delicious. Although I live one hour away, I will definitely shop there again. Found them on-line searching for fresh pasta.

Beautiful store, amazing selection of fancy products (fresh pasta, cheese, meats, spreads, real mayonnaise, ready to eat things, frozen meals, desserts...) and friendly staff! Update: We ate the fresh pasta we'd bought (we waited 1 day past the best-before but it was still amazing so make what you will of that information) and it was just pasta heaven! They have an al dente chewy texture that just cannot be achieved with regular dried pasta. I will definitely be getting more! One bag of fresh fettuccine was good for 2 very nice portions!
