★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lawrence Avenue and Yonge is a respectable and community-friendly intersection in North Toronto. The George H. Locke Memorial Library on the south-east corner is an art deco gem of local architecture. There's a wonderful and pedestrian-friendly park surrounding the library. Although there seems to be too many pizza restaurants and not enough convenience stores, there are some interesting shops selling everything from socks to luxury items.
