★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Adopted the family pet from here years ago, and recently went back to look into fostering. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the animals are obviously well taken care of. The building is clean and well organized, and the cats have plenty of space to escape to if they don't feel like visiting.
The senior kitties are the ones who need homes the most, so if you are interested in adopting soon, please go visit them rather than just seeing the kittens! The older cats I met are such sweeties, and I wish I could take every one of them home ❤

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We adopted Rylee 13 years ago. LAPS allowed me to foster to adopt in case my other cat didn't adjust to him. It took a long 5 months but it worked out in the end. A few months ago we sent Rylee over the rainbow bridge. I am forever thankful that LAPS was flexible, giving Rylee the opportunity at a forever home where he lived an amazing life full of love.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently had the opportunity to take advantage of the free microchipping clinic put on by LAPS. I was very impressed. Although you could see that everyone was not sure about what they were doing, it was done very professionally and quite efficiently. Everyone was very helpful and all had smiles welcoming you in the nicest way. Thank you so much for all you do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Langley Animal Protection Society is the most amazing animal shelter that I have ever seen. The focus on the well-being of the animals doesn't end with a washing, and flea and tick treatment.
So much thought and consideration was put into the design of the building to accommodate dogs and cats in ways to reduce stress on the creatures, including the way volunteers are recruited and trained. The care that is put into making sure that the animals are adopted and re-homed, with people that will be a great fit for the animals and new owners to me, almost seems to rival that of agencies concerned with the needs of human children.
I would feel much more comfortable with my dog being boarded at LAPS then any private boarding kennel that I have ever seen. It almost makes me wonder how many of these animals are repeated runaways that are just returning there to enjoy a vacation from their normal routine. If you're animals ever are housed there remember that they are getting the best care possible from the staff and volunteers that truely love the job that they are doing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After deciding to get a pet, a friend of mine suggested going to LAPS. I sat in the kitten room and watched. After a while I spotted a lovely torbie with a pretty face. The people I delt with were Very careful. Checked me out throughly. And after a week I picked up my kitten.
That was three years ago.
Angel is a dear. And so part of this family. Going through a shelter is the way to go.
