On two seperate occasions, the LAWS staff has been really helpful and kind. My friends and I found an abandoned box of kittens and mother cat last year, and even though they were already over capacity at the shelter, they took the cats in to nurse them back to health. And just recently, they helped my girlfriend and find the perfect cat for ourselves, and couldnt be happier!

We got our fur baby kitty here. LAWS was really good to process our adoption, and they have done what they could to keep it in good shape. But they need support from the community like they get in Ottawa.

We had to put our 17 year old cat down 2 weeks ago so I took his belongings, food, and his bed to them. Very hard to do, but very understanding and sympathetic staff to our loss. Thanks

I bought a cat for $160 and donated $25 on top of that two weeks ago. From the moment the cat came home, she started peeing everywhere and shaking her tail quickly as if she were trying to spray. I have to pay to have my carpets cleaned professionally as EPR my lease as well as my daughter's mattress which I think I may just need to replace. But the worst part was that the woman on the phone yesterday was nice and understanding and the woman whom I met when I dropped the cat off today was very ignorant and dismissive. When I tried to ask if that cats adoption fee could be waived for the next family (as I believe it should be since it was already paid by myself, with no money returned to me) I was told that the full fee would be charged to the next family anyways, even though I should be able to go in and donate the adoption fee and have the cat be free for the next family (just like you can do at the Ottawa Humane Society) although here I am guessing that here they would still charge the next family because that is essentially what they're doing, getting the adoption fee twice for one cat plus a donation. BUT, THE WORST PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE WAS THE WOMAN'S ATTITUDE, WHICH WAS REALLY POOR.

I sincerely value the work they do here at LAWS. Yesterday I picked up a handsome boy my the name of Theo. Before we scheduled a time to meet with him, they asked that I complete an adoption form. It has some great questions in an effort to make sure their animals are going to the right home. The process was smoothe and the people were great. I was helped by Wendy who was very communicative, walked me through everything and arranged the meeting. Theo is fitting in perfectly! Both my daughter and I are in love with his character. Thank you to the LAWS team for all your help and for bringing more love into my home!! Recommend all day, every day!

Very caring rescue. Website is excellent, easy to navigate and up-to-date. Fostering of animals has resulted in very healthy and well-adjusted animals. Staff at the rescue are knowledgeable, very caring and helpful. We are very happy with our new pets.
