Lakeview Inn

Needed a last minute stay for the night after a backcountry canoe trip Sept long weekend. Booked on the phone while en route. Place was very nice, nice street appeal with the flowers everywhere and nice wide parking spots too. The owner Hitesh is friendly and takes pride in his motel. He has fixed it up very nice in the few years he has owned it. Room was very clean and nice. First thing I said to the wife " we have paid double this at major chains in big cities for the same quality of room" She agreed. Very clean, wifi, cable, good A/C, no shortage of hot water, and free ice for your day trip cooler etc... Ended up staying two nights and exploring the local trails. Unfortunately restaurant is closed due to no one wanting to work in the area. With the owner busy running the hotel, and no one wanting to cook or serve, it had to be closed. Too bad, it looks nice through the window. There are lots of places to eat nearby, so don't worry about that. Timmies and groceries one block away and beer store 100' away. I will stay here anytime I am in the area. ~Andrew p.s. don't be fooled by on line price, that is the third party site trying to suck you in for $119 but you wont get that price even from them (I checked after asking about the discrepancy). Owner has nothing to do with those sites. $130 is a fair price for what you get, if you want an $80/n roach motel, this is not it. Keep going down the road, you will find them.

Being a young girl traveling alone can be a little scary, but I really did feel safe staying at the Lakevirw Inn on my way down Highway 17! There are cameras outside the rooms and a staff in the office throughout the night. The concierge was very kind and welcoming, explaining that his priority was for the hotel to feel like home away from home to the guests. The room was very clean and ahead a great wifi connection, staying here was a great experience.

Comfortable sleep. Room was warm it was - 5 outside. You can hear the traffic though. Not bad.

Great little motel along the highway. Walking distance to "downtown" Blind River. Right beside the beer store. Quiet little grassy yard around back. Very clean. Free ice bags. Nice staff. Great bathrooms. My wife and i have stayed in many small motels across Ontario, this ranks near the top.

Horribly run...terrible do not stay!!! Tried to get a room for the night and was told by the east Indian woman sorry no rooms we are booked meanwhile there was only one car parked in the hotel parking lot and the Open sign was on as well as the vacancy sign too. Rude...ignorant....terrible...warning do not stay at the Lakeview Motel!!!

Clean, comfortable, well maintained, cookies & mints in room were a nice touch.

Weary traveller managed to get a room .. very welcomed, the roo. Is clean and efficient.. hard squeaky bed but soft pillows.. fridge works, air conditioner too.. and rhe micro wave.. but as the CG switch in the bathroom does not.. hard job finding somewhere to charge my phone without moving appliances and furniture to find a plug!plug

Clean, comfortable, good sleeping quarters and bathroom. A little dated but well-maintained property. Roadside traffic beside sometimes a bit loud but tolerable. Prompt and polite service—not infrequently from the owner himself. Would recommend it.
