I was given the opportunity to volunteer with SupportiveLiving.ca. This past summer I was at Lakeside Terrace Supportive Living residence and helped looking after the residents. It was a rewarding experience, one that I will never forget! Thank you to the CEO, Vishal Chityal, for being a great mentor and giving me the chance to give back. In a time where homelessness is becoming a crisis on our community, he is keeping them off the street, housed and supported!

This is in relation with what Loretta has said. From my understanding is that you have a brother in this home and he is less than a stand up person. Have you ever thought of just taking your brother out of the home if you hate it that much. I do also have the understanding that many of the others are very happy in that home. Things to also remember, in a time of COVID it is not easy to do many of the things that was easy to do before. There are rules and regulations that need to be followed. I will say that the staff are trying their best in very difficult times. Also maybe you should walk in their shoes for just one day. You talk a talk but how about walk the walk. Have you asked your brother if he is following the rules of COVID. Does he wear a mask to protect himself or others. The list can go on. There is always positives to negatives. From what I can see you focus only on the negative. So shame on you.

I started working at White House Lodge Supportive Living residence two months ago and what can I say? I have worked in many group homes but found SupportiveLiving.ca to be a large, welcoming company, offering so much opportunity to grow. My decision to leave the other group homes and work at SupportiveLiving.ca was solely based on the amazing support I received from their management team. It is a breath of fresh air to know my voice is heard and they are committed to my success. While my home base is White House Lodge, I was given the opportunity to travel to other Supportive Living residences. It gives me the chance to work with a diverse set of residents, with various diagnoses, enabling me to learn different ways of how to help them. I am also delighted to work with a new community in direct coordination with churches or food banks. My job is never boring and my work keeps me on my toes. I highly recommended working here. SupportiveLiving.ca is a great company invested in its staff, clients and residents!--Kenneth K

SupportiveLiving.ca is a great workplace with friendly people. We are provided with many opportunities to learn and use new skills, especially when it came to working with the public and residents. Without question or judgment, Management is there EVERY SINGLE WORK DAY... assisting us with a smile. Supportiveliving.ca is one of the most compassionate, helpful organizations in the community and I find ALL of our staff and Management to be very professional. The work atmosphere is unparalleled to any job I have had in my professional career.

I used to live with my brother in the city. Now that I am living at Lakeside Terrace, I feel more independent and supported. I have made new friends here and they even save me a seat at meal times. I like living by the lake and during the summer I go for walks. I feel safe here and the staff are kind and friendly. I recommend SupportiveLiving.ca to everyone!

I started working with the company three years ago and glad that I had the opportunity to do so. It's been a great experience working in the different homes like Lakeside Terrace with all the residents and management. The personal growth and being supported by management has been great. The residents are friendly and appreciate everything you do. Thank you to Supportive Living team for being there for people who just need a little extra help to make their life better. Supportive Living is a great place to work!

Before I came to Lakeside Terrace, I was living near the library in Fort Erie with my father. I came to Lakeside over fifteen years ago. It is a comfortable setting at Lakeside and I enjoy being near the lake to take walks on the beach and watch the boats. Most of the time, I listen to my radio. The staff here is great and I help them out as much as I can since this is my home. I received Resident of the Month back in March. SupportiveLiving really cares about their residents and it is great being recognized!

My name is Meghan Stamp and I am a resident at Lakeside Terrace Supportive Living here in Port Colborne. I have lived here for 1 year and honestly the living conditions here are not terrible. What I mean by not terrible is that the bathrooms get cleaned, the floors get swept and mopped daily, all the residents get their laundry done and lastly all the residents get their rooms cleaned thoroughly by the staff here. There was a change in the menu and the food since then has been terrific. Also the staff are very kind, personable and they always try to meet every residents needs if they can in a timely manner. There are many reasons why I chose to move from my hometown of Guelph to this Supportive Living Facility. I was dealing with homelessness and I was really bad in the drug scene to the point where I was close to dead. I finally got accepted here at this location of Supportive Living and I accepted the offer because I not only wanted to get sober and I have been now for around 4 or 5 months. Also I came to Supportive living because well I was done with being homeless and I wanted to start life fresh and on a clean slate in a different city so what I’m trying to say is that Supportive Living saved my life and I would not be 4 or 5 months sober if it wasn’t for Supportive Living taking me in and giving me a roof over my head, and for staff that cared about me.
