The cottage was extremely clean and well-kept, and the view of the sunset was absolutely gorgeous every night! If you’re interested in fishing, there’s some great catches just off of the dock. If not, there are plenty of activities/trails nearby (high falls is a good one). Steve, Anne, and their son Jakob were amazing hosts; they were SO friendly and extremely kind:) Jakob even took us on a night fishing adventure which was definitely the highlight of our trip. My entire family had an amazing time!
C	Christopher Gardiner on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great for families with dogs. Close to a town. Pool. Each cottage has a hot tub. Wi-Fi. Just prepare to be in close quarters with other cottagers. This is a resort style place, so there's not a lot of privacy. The smaller cottages have docks in front of them, which are also shared. The larger apartment style "cottage" in the man building is large with two bedrooms and a reserved front lawn.

The cottages are well clean and well equipped. Some of the cottages have a hot tub which is a nice plus. The place is very dog friendly and when we pull in to the property, our dog gets excited. The hosts are very warm and helpful.

It was nice to view the multitude of wildlife adapt to the seasons along the waters edge, ... ducks, swans, fox, owl, eagles....... Both Anne and Steve (owners/managers) were quick to address anything we required, and are/were very pleasant during our stay. I am confident anyone would thoroughly enjoy the proximity to the water/nature and conveniences Lake Edge Cottages provides.
A	Anita Mo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our family had a wonderful stay at Lake Edge Cottages. The Kawartha Suite was extremely clean and had everything we needed for our one week stay. The hosts (Steve, Anne & Jakob) were so helpful with their advice on things to see and do. We had a very relaxing and lovely time. Our favourite experiences were many: fishing off the canoe/rowboat, kayaking around the marsh, birdwatching (spying on the osprey nest with their hatchlings and watching the osprey swoop down to catch a fish on the lake), watching the beautiful sunset over the lake, taking the pontoon out to explore the lake, and sneaking out late at night to look at the millions of beautiful stars that we never get to see in the city. So glad we found a welcoming place for our dogs to join us: they had a great time swimming, running amok in the sandbar, and riding in the pontoon boat. Overall, it was just what we needed for a peaceful break from the city. We were so sad to leave. Highly recommend this family and dog-friendly cottage resort.
M	Mailyne Aspilla-Sherratt on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So happy we found Lake Edge Cottages. It was our first visit, and will not be the last! We were greeted by Anne, who walked us through the cabin. We later met Steve (Anne's husband) and their son Jacob. We had a wonderful 2 night stay, we stayed in Reigning Cats and Dogs. The cabin was cozy, very clean, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed all the amenities, we walked the trail, used the paddle boat, kayak and canoe. We brought our boat and there is a boat launch on site. We had fun filled days, and enjoyed a dip in the hot tub to end the night. We enjoyed our stay so much, we were tempted to stay an extra night, but sadly we had to return to the city, because work. Unfortunately for us, they're booked for the rest of the summer but will be booking a stay in the fall. Well done, Lake Edge Cottages! Highly recommend!

Watching the sunset in the evening from our private hot tub was exactly what we needed to relax and unwind. If you're looking for a clean, cozy, peaceful, pet friendly retreat then look no further!
