About LA Sugaring

I purchased a 10 pack VIP card from LA a while back. Today I went for my 8th appointment and was told (quite rudely) that if I didn't buy another memb...ership card today (ranging from $100-175), I'd have to pay full price ($60) for my appointment today AND the remaining services I had would be void. Naturally, I didn't plan to spend $100-175 when I went in, thinking I had a few left to use. I kindly asked her if I could plan to buy the membership next time at my next appointment and she wouldn't allow me to. Ila then made me read the back of a VIP card in her office regarding the terms... one which read "If you do not renew the membership with 1 appointment left, you will be charged $20." When I agreed to paying the $20, she took the card, scratched out that term and said "It doesn't apply anymore. My ex husband wrote that. You pay the full price. $60." When I questioned why I felt I didn't get to use the full 10 (technically I'd have 2 left to use) services, she began to argue and raise her voice with me, that she knows what she's doing and that I can pay full price for everything going forward. She then also threatened to cancel all these options for everyone in the future, which I found a bit unnecessary to be that dramatic based on this scenario. I believe she was having a very bad day, as she arrived 10 minutes late (with no notice) and had double booked her 12pm spot, but I really didn't appreciate being treated this way, needing to pay AGAIN for a service I had already paid for and not being able to fully use the VIP card (her voiding my last two). In the end, I paid for 10 services, used 7, had to pay full price for the 8th and she voided my last 2. **Buyer beware of her memberships and the inability to fully use all the services you pay for.** Show more

I have since then recommended them to other friends who go regularly as well. The staff is friendly, fast, efficient and they know how to make their customers comfortable. This may not be a high end salon, but it is clean, relaxing and works for their small, family business. The prices are fair and affordable for their service. I recommend you book an appointment, you might just get hooked!!

Very clean place with great staff that do exactly as you would hope in the circumstances, which is keeping you calm and doing their work as quickly and painlessly as possible. Although I have experienced bruising after sugaring services at other salons, this has never been the case at LA. They have an amazing “Tulip Tuesday” deal and a 10-service pack which is absolutely the best price in the city. The only place for sugaring I would ever recommend to anyone! Frequent customer tip: go on their website to book your appointment as the system works perfectly, so no need to call them to book appointments as they might be busy with other customers and may not answer the phone.

I sincerely wish they had reached out and canceled or rescheduled. My hair removal was very poorly done and I was covered in sugar afterwards; a literal mess. The setup is very unprofessional; I had to dress while the (I don't want to call her an esthetician; I suspect she has had no formal experience in this field) employee was in the room trying to figure out how to take payment from a card. I ended up having to etransfer my payment which really sucks because of the fees associated with that. A huge waste of money in so many ways. Do not recommend.

I have had to sit & wait more times than I want to count after I've arrived on time & had to wait thru 1 or 2 other clients service! If they know they are running behind they should call and let their repeat customers know that.- if they want to keep them as repeat customers.Also, they never answer the phone, or worse yet return messages left on their phone.

Finally someone let me in (probably the receptionist for the other company in that building whose desk faces the front door). The esthetician was not very skillful. Took many, many attempts to remove my hair. My skin is quite dry and tender now. Would not go back.
