J	Jackie Mederi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We needed a place to stay very close to Powderface trail where we were setting up for a friend's proposal to his partner at the top of the mountain. Kruger Guest House is very close by, the price was right, and we were thankfully able to book in due to a cancellation. We got even more than we hoped for. We arrived late and had to leave very early. Vera made herself available to get us settled in and answered all our questions. She was flexible, helpful and low-key. It felt very calming and relaxed to us even in a circumstance which was otherwise quite stressful (we realized as soon as we got there that we had forgotten my husband's bag at home, so he had none of his stuff). The house is a proper log cabin, beautiful inside and out, and so comfortable. Nothing over the top, and everything we needed, including a kitchenette with a full fridge to prep the elaborate picnic we made. Our 7yo daughter kept exclaiming over how cozy it was. We found a copy of Kahlil Gibran's Prose Poems from one of the bookshelves to read for the night. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants somewhere that is close to the trails and still convenient to the town, simple and lovely and comfortable. I would come back to have a bath and sit on the balcony with a book. We were also able to pay by cash or etransfer which is very convenient.
J	Jessica Evans on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vera is a great hostess! Her house is very comfortable and homey. Be open with her about your needs, and she will tell you whether she can accommodate them. If you have mobility issues, the house (first floor, at least) might be accessible for you, if you can do a couple steps at a time. So let her know your needs, and maybe it will work for you.
