Great food. Really well done. But they rushed us out the door at 830pm despite closing time being 9pm. Not much business so I guess they wanted to go home sooner.

I came here for dinner and loved their tiger shrimp. They also have congee at night but it is not individual bowl, it comes in a pot. Their service is excellent.

We loved our food tonight. Friendly service, good food, free parking and only 20 minutes drive from Granville Island (in the evening at 7 pm), across Granville Street and Oak Bridge. Our dinner was served with a free dessert; tapioca with squash, a kind of "Fusion" desert. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Chinese food.

Ordered a few dishes, tofu with deied scallop, sweet & sour pork, stir fried chicken with black fungus... But we didn't order congee, which we should have since it's called Kongee Dinesty =) . Anyhoo... Each dish was bold and flavourful and service was quick. However they didn't have most of the dishes we tried to order from their menu (chef special chicken, some veggies, etc.). Overall, I give it 4 stars.

I've been eyeing this place for a while but unfortunately the wife isn't the biggest fan of congee. Nevertheless, we made our way here for brunch one Saturday morning at around 10.30. There was no wait at the time but the place was packed when we left at around 11.30. If you've ever been to Hong Kong, you'll find places like this that serve what is essentially the Chinese version of all day breakfast. What that amounts to is basically carbs on carbs on more glorious carbs. I used to love these kind of places as a kid so I had somewhat high hopes when I walked in. Here's what we ordered: Chinese deep fried donuts in steamed rice roll - I could tell from the glistening rice sheet on the outside that this was going to be good. Rice roll itself is perfectly soft and silky. When combined with the perfectly crispy Chinese donut on the inside and the sauces, it was near perfect combination. Only slight nitpick is that they were a little large. 5/5 Pan fried raddish cake - a nice change from the over processed super starchy ones you see at most dim sum places. Had nice chunks of radish inside and an almost home made taste and texture. 4/5 Fish filet and beef congee - super flavorful and with a very generous serving of fish and beef. Fish was unfortunately frozen but expected for the price. The rice congee itself was the star though, with perfect texture and flavor. 4/5 We were stuffed and the final bill came to under $20 with tax and tip included which is fantastic value these days. Keep in mind that the lunch menu (served after 11) is slightly more expensive. Service was fast and friendly, lots of parking available in the free lot. Highly recommend.

We ordered from their breakfast menu 9:30-11am menu, two breakfast sets. One Fish filet and Beef slice congee with shrimp rice roll, and one mushroom and chicken congee with Chinese donut rice roll (+$1.25). The shrimp rice roll barely had any piece of shrimp in it, but the rice roll part still tasted really good. The Chinese donut rice roll was not bad. The congees were okay too. And the price was not bad. $9.85 for a breakfast set. We ordered a black sesame soy milk to go. That was yummy. The service is pretty good for a Chinese restaurant. And very clean, nice atmosphere. There was parking. They get busy so come early and be prepared for line ups. Overall I would come back here.

Quality and portion size makes the price well worth it. Kongee Dinesty is, of-course, known for their congee. A dedicated laminated card menu presents you with a variety of pick and choose ingredients to add to either a flavoured congee base or a pepper base. This comes at a standard price for an entire pot of congee enough to last you many bowls. The menu contains a good variety of different main dishes from seafood, meats, vegetables, and seasonal items, but not too many options as to overwhelm. Portions are served on large serving plates and the food piles up. Service is reasonably friendly and the place is clean and brightly lit. Care is taken in their upkeep as you won't find chipped, cracked, or otherwise defective cups or plates as is common in many other Chinese restaurants. Kongee Dinesty is also a very decent lunch location, serving congee, fried rice or noodles, and other side dishes. All in all a very decent place for dining.

I have been craving liver congee (don't judge), for as long as I can remember, because it's so hard to find. Well I'm happy to say I was finally able to satisfy this craving today at Kongee Dinesty. We ordered the following: Pork Liver & Slice Pork Congee - this congee was so much better than what I remember. The congee was flavourful, the liver & meat was tender & I love the addition of the peanuts. I always find congee lacks texture but the peanuts give it a nice contrast. It really exceeded my expectations & hit the spot. Chinese Doughnut - this for me is a must when having congee. It was light, flaky & melt in your mouth. I love putting it in the congee and allowing it to melt into this gooey soft puddle of yum. At $3.95 though it is very overpriced especially for what you get. Steamed Pork & Mushroom Dumplings - these Siu Mai were huge & packed with flavour! They were one of the best I've had in a long while. Pan Fried Rice Rolls in XO Sauce - this was carb loading heaven. Again it was extremely flavorful (a common thread amongst all the dishes we had). The rice rolls had a nice chew to them, everything tasted fresh & it had a subtle heat to it which was pleasant. Overall this is a nice little restaurant with friendly service. They take COVID-19 seriously. Even the chefs in the hot steaming kitchen can be seen wearing facemasks. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because their online menus are out of date. They no longer have their breakfast & lunch combos, so expect to pay quite a bit more. They're not open at 9am as their website says. In other words don't rely on their website giving you any current information. They are also cash only, but they do accept e-transfer. I'm hoping they bring back their old menus post covid-19. It would definitely make it a more affordable meal out. @inspiringfoodie
