Fabulous beach front campground. Nice caretakers. The pavillion is perfect for family gatherings.

Great fishing has two boat launches you pay daily or yearly. Camping is like parking lot camping in some areas there isn't any sand it's a rocky beach. There are no serviced sites but despite all that it's still a beautiful little spot. Out houses are very clean the cleanest I have ever used. Ice cream store for the kids cash only. You cannot reserve at this site you can stay 10 days than off for 4.

Beautiful coastal rainforest and a great tour at Kitty Coleman Woodland Gardens. Woodland Gardens now features an outdoor musical stage featuring musicians that perform bi-weekly at this super natural place. We were delighted to experience a musical performance by Hawaiian artists Anella and Luke Bluguthrie which was totally awesome! There will be repeat performances this season, so check back for dates. The gardens are stunning with the last rainfall and the wildlife viewing is even better. We revisited in June 20th. 2021

The price is right especially for being next to the ocean. The caretaker is very nice and keeps the campground very clean and has firewood if you need it. Unfortunately the campsites and the fire pits are really close to each other so it can be loud especially if your neighbours like to talk a lot and have dogs that bark at every moment.

This is one of the finest campgrounds in all of south or central Vancouver Island. Beach front views, $15 a night, well taken care of. It puts everything else in the region to shame. Why 3 stars then? Because it is sardine packed like a private campground. There is maybe 10 feet of space between the side of your rig and the next rig. Anything less than 30 feet is unacceptable. 50 feet is preferable. I can't rate any sardines farm more than 3 stars. Also, there's no sun. Even the sunniest spots have a couple hours at best to give, so don't expect to get any power. Generator hours inexplicably run over lunch and end at 2pm, so there is no opportunity to boost over dinner. If you run out, you're done till tomorrow. The sites are also not entirely level. It's not super bad, but results may vary. With sardines there is never any such thing as peace and quiet. That said, I notice there are lots of older people here and that helps immensely. I've come in september specifically to avoid families so I can't speak for disaster season. Just that, for a campsite that commits the cardinal sin of packing sardines, it is fairly quiet. The sound of the waves and view really helps to boost this. This is an incredibly difficult region to find good camping. If you are stuck here and cannot just drive to the North Island or go to better parts of BC to camp, this is a solid option to soak in for a few.

We showed up late after arriving with the last ferry from Powell River. It was marked "Full" but fortunately the gentleman at the gate discovered there was a "no-show" and got us a marvelous spot for our campervan. The outhouse is the nicest and cleanest I have ever seen anywhere. It doesn't even smell bad in there. Be aware there are no showers or bathrooms. Nice day-picnic area. Many beachfront campsites, and the ones that aren't still have great views of the ocean. Small, friendly and inexpensive campground. Expect it to be full if no reservation during summer.

Great management and beautiful sites. This was the one place we didn't have any rain while camping! Beautiful beachfront sites. We even got to listen to some sea lions down the way. There is also a Creek that flows through. I really enjoyed seeing the gigantic Douglas fir tree.
