Great hike, first 2 km are pretty steep but the ridgewalk at the top is gorgeous! Made me feel like I was in the Alps.

This is a good quick hike cardio workout to the ridge but the reward is absolutely gorgeous.I rate this hike as hard due to elevation gain. You will get to see the beauty of the Opal ranges and the upper and lower kananaskis lakes.

Loved this hike. Read reviews before you head up. It's a very steep hike up and aggressive coming back down. Would suggest poles. View is of course spectacular. When we went it was very busy. Trail head is really easy to find.

A short distance steep and strenuous hike to the top of the ridge from small parking lot area at the mouth of the King Creek gorge on highway 40 side just before junction with #742. Our attempt to descent north slopes of King Creek valley was not pleasant. There is no any markings or dedicated path through the gulley and bushes. However, eventually we reached some sort of trail along creek and managed come back via gorge to the parking lot

Amazing hike with beautiful views! Do NOT attempt to go in to the valley for the Mount Hood trails. They don't exist anymore, it's all Bush, and extremely dangerous going up and down (we had to go all the way back up). Highly recommend this hike!

There are no lakes uphill, but you can see Kananaskis Lakes from the top of ridge. Mountains are great and beautiful. This hiking trail is not very hard.

Worth to hike especially in the winter ? elevation is steep and challenging from time to time ? ski poles are must

The trail starts out steep and does not flatten at all until you get on top of the ridge. But it was worth it all. Gorgeous 360 views, with a feeling of accomplishment when you get back down. Be prepared for a workout, would not recommend for beginners. Poles were extremely valuable going down.
