We like Jinny

Is a great daycare. They’re pretty good with kids and have a great customer service. You may run into very minor issues, but nothing they can’t fix. The plus side of it is that they have cameras and you can always check on your kids. The staff is amazing, they die a great job.

The individual caregivers were great, and the lunch program is convenient. Unfortunately, the corporate daycare model they follow here results in high turnover in caregivers resulting in a lack of continuity and structure. All too often incidents indicating a lack of supervision were occuring that, given an 8-1 provincially mandated caregiver to child ratio, just never really made sense. While I could tell that some of the caregivers genuinely cared, all too often it felt like the daycare itself was always more interested in making money. I’d look elsewhere. Edit (for reference): On November 20 followed up on the company's comment below to discuss a resolution. Still haven't heard back.

I am thrilled with Kids & CO. My daughter is absolutely thriving here (she is almost two years old). I plan to send my next kid here as well (currently pregnant). As a developmental psychologist who focuses specifically on childhood development, I am very picky as to where I sent my children. But, I cannot say enough great things about Kids & Co at Morgan Crossing. It is a wonderfully structured play-based learning facility. Play based learning is empirically supported as one of the BEST approaches in terms of encouraging healthy development of your babes. Do not be swayed by folks telling you that children should be subject to content-focused academics only, and that play is a waste of time. There is no empirical support for this. The content and academic focused work comes later. Play is the most important factor at a young age as it fosters curiosity in children and often results in children becoming very academically successful. "Play-based learning is a type of early childhood education based on child-led and open-ended play. Play-based learning helps children develop social skills, motivation to learn, and even language and numeracy skills. Taking initiative, focused attention, and curiosity about the world are all a part of play." This is the best approach for children of this age, and has a direct link to the most important skills for life which is Social and Emotional Learning (please google this). They also have structured meals, a really cool play by play app you can download that tells you exactly what your child is doing all day, AND Cameras that you can log into if you want to watch your kids play! Cannot say enough great things about Kids & Co. Morgan Crossing!
